The Position

At Rocketship, high quality educators and staff are critical to our mission to eliminate the achievement gap within our lifetimes. As we grow, we continue to need talented educators to join our team of motivated staff across the country.

The Associate Recruiter will be an instrumental member of our growing Recruitment Team. Reporting to a Lead Recruiter, the Associate Recruiter will work closely with the Recruitment Team to cultivate and screen high quality educators for Rocketship's schools.

This is a full time non-exempt position. Hours are 11am-7pm Pacific Time to allow for evening candidate calls (note that hours on Friday may be either 9am-5pm or 11am-7pm Pacific Time). This position may be based in the California Bay Area (preferred), Milwaukee, Nashville, or DC. If based outside of the CA Bay Area, must be able to work the scheduled hours in Pacific Time.

This position is contingent on term-limited supplemental funding and will be reassessed annually.

Essential Functions:

    • Increase the quantity and quality of teacher applications:
    • Sourcing high quality candidates through databases and online communities
    • Writing and sending messaging to candidates through online platforms
    • Conducting and scheduling cultivation calls with prospective candidates
    • Researching and identifying new sources for educator talent
    • Managing registration and logistics for local and national job fairs with occasional attendance
    • Selection of highly qualified candidates:
    • Reviewing resumes and conduct phone interviews with qualified candidates
    • Managing logistics for interviews including scheduling and candidate reimbursement
    • Direct Hiring:
    • Responsible for full cycle recruitment (sourcing through closing) of instructional hourly staff members (exact hiring assignment to be determined based on regional needs)
    • Recruitment team operational support:
    • Using applicant tracking system and Google Apps systems to keep records and monitor progress
    • Supporting job posting or candidate list management and outreach
    • Managing recruitment-related data entry and data cleaning
    • Preparing candidate and interviewer materials
    • Other special projects to be determined
    • Support positive candidate experience:
    • Serving as the first point of contact for staff members interested in working at Rocketship Education
    • Providing regular touch points with newly hired teachers to keep them engaged throughout the year including sending new hire welcome packages.


Qualifications:
    • 1+ year full time work experience


    • Work experience in at least one of the following fields:
    • Talent recruitment
    • Sales, political canvassing, or fundraising
    • K-12 Education
    • Detail oriented; you love when everything is in its place
    • Strong systems for organization; you live by your calendar and have a neat inbox
    • High energy
    • A passion for people; you have a genuine curiosity about others
    • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and anti-racist hiring practices
    • Goal-oriented and motivated by achieving quantitative and qualitative results
    • Customer service orientation
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
