We're playing in an exploding market where technology evolves daily and acquisitions / consolidations happen left and right. We are continuing to expand our IoT connectivity offerings to not only include all cellular technologies and services, but also a best-in-class IoT device management, services, and application SaaS platform, as well as alternate connectivity options such as low power WAN (LPWA), Wi-Fi and other short-range networking options.


This position is primarily responsible for developing business for Aeris within the technology start-up community and spotting trends in start-up areas of activity. Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Meeting directly with start-ups to determine if they would benefit from our technology platforms and solutions.
  • Qualifying and referring opportunities to Aeris business units for closure.
  • Building relationships with venture capital firms, corporate investment arms and other start-up ecosystem players (for example innovation hubs and organizations) to access their relationships into the startup community.
  • Spotting trends and new technology directions and passing that information in a summary fashion on a regular basis to the rest of the Aeris organization.
  • Representing Aeris in the startup community by attending events and functions and speaking as appropriate at events.


Success in this position is measured by the amount of revenue ultimately generated by opportunities identified and driven by the candidate. Success will require the candidate to have the following abilities:

  • Ability to understand what business opportunities the existing Aeris businesses are looking for.
  • Ability to understand the technology platforms and capabilities that Aeris can offer, and be able to accurately qualify start-ups that would benefit from that technology.
  • High energy and strong interest in building personal relationships with start-up entrepreneurs.
  • Strong communication skills that enable good conversations with the start-up community to ascertain where Aeris technology may be a good fit.
  • Ability to impact others across the organization, in particular in the line business units.
