About the team Ad Serving team designs, develops, deploys, and maintains the Supply-Side, Ad Mediation and Demand-Side Platforms. These platforms are squarely in the middle of and critical to all Ad monetization at Roku. We use cutting edge technologies in developing scalable, reliable, and performant systems. Continued success relies on investing in Advertising Engineering. A cutting-edge Advertising Platform is critical to support and grow Roku's exploding ad business. It is the mission of Advertising Engineering Team to build this platform. We are hiring a Sr. Manager to lead efforts towards our mission in the Ad Serving area. The ideal candidate will have endless curiosity and can pair a global mindset with locally relevant execution. You should be a gritty problem solver and self-starter who can drive programs with the product and commercial teams within Roku and across external strategic partner organizations. The successful candidate will display a balance of hard and soft skills, including the ability to respond quickly to changing business needs. What you'll be doing Building scalable, resilient, and performant distributed systems for ad serving. Working across engineering teams, data science, and product management to influence the direction of work and architecture. Take complete ownership of impactful initiatives and make pragmatic technical decisions. Stakeholder management, developing good understanding of advertising business needs, building domain knowledge to understand systems and data better. We're excited if you have 6+ years' experience leading technical teams and large-scale distributed systems. Experience building, growing and managing teams. Subject matter expertise in advertising and data. Solid understanding of distributed systems, scalable architectures, data systems and pipelines. Strong communication skills. Self-motivated individual with a high level of accountability and ownership. Critical thinker and practical decision maker. Can do, results-oriented mindset. Nonpolitical, collaborative, and team oriented.
