Job Overview

This company is a research and development-led company in image processing technology. It has globally expanded its advanced image processing technology as embedded software, for domestic and overseas customers centered on the smartphone market, broadcasting stations and content

They are seeking an experienced individual to fill the Software Engineer position supporting customers and ISV partners in their US branch office to help company's growth strategy in the imaging + AI space. The company has extensive market share in the smartphone space with computational Imaging plus AI IPs in the form of embedded software modules (libraries) and are working to expand to other non smartphone space like Tablet, PCs, Industrial, embedded Edge devices to name a few. The key roles and responsibilities are listed below.

- Customer port/ Integration support :

This engineer works closely with the product marketing manager and R&D team to provide software support to integrate and/or port products and solutions to smart device and chipset manufacturers who are existing/potential licensees and strategic partners to the company. The platform could be based on Android or Linux or Windows and may have diverse compute resources (heterogenous computing).

- Requirement capturing:

Help capture/drive customer and partner software requirements for their specific hardware & OS platforms and provide help map the company's IPs to their platforms

- Software Technical support for pre-sales:

May need to provide software support for technical Q&A with customer during RFI/RFQ phase. Work closely together with Tokyo product software team and the US marketing/sales team to help toward design win.

- Ecosystem:

Work with 3rd party partner teams to contribute adding value to the firm's solutions and establish relation with them and manage integration.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

5+ years software development in computational Imaging /Image Processing/camera systems using C/C++ in addition to work experience in either of the following fields.

• Experience with Android, Windows and Linux based embeded development
• Software development using DSP /GPU/ AI accelerator and/or related H/W accelerator for power and performance efficient implementation
• Experience in heterogenous computing for System on Chip (SoC) and embedded hardware including debugging on embedded hardware
• Good understanding of computer vision/ Image Processing algorithms and capability to learn new algorithms
• Experience in python, make files and make systems
• Ability to travel globally and domestically as needed (10% typically)

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
• Experience with integration and code optimization on mainstream smart device chipsets for example Qualcomm Snapdragon etc.
• Experience working with GitHub
• In-depth working knowledge of smart device architectures including processors, sensors, and other hardware related to camera
• Ability to effectively engage with product marketing and the R&D team on products supporting customer needs
• Additional skills in the following areas considered a plus:
• Previous experience in software development in the field of computational photography and/or computer vision
• HALIDE, Hexagon HVX, openGL, Windows DeviceMFT
• Knowledge of current technology trends in edge AI and smart device industry
• Effective communication skills with cross functional teams, both technical and non-technical, within a fast-paced, collaborative, innovative environment
