About the team What this team is about, and the challenges you will tackle: Our team's mission is to build cutting-edge advertising technology to support and help grow sustainable advertising business. The team owns server technologies, reporting infrastructure, data, cloud services, and test engineering for the advertising platforms within Roku. We also work closely with internal and external customers to help them achieve their advertising goals and support them with specialized systems. What you'll be doing In this role you will work as a key member of a team responsible for automating multi-billion dollar business processes across all of advertising platform for Roku. You will build data pipelines using state of the art big data technologies; develop APIs to integrate with external as well as internal stakeholders, initiate process changes across advertising, finance and operations business units. Your responsibilities will include Design and develop scalable engineering framework to help fast-growing global Advertising business Work closely with broader engineering team, cross-functional business partners as well as finance and operations team to build robust automation. Serve as the engineering organization's subject matter expert on broader business processes and facilitate better understanding between different stakeholders like Finance, Engineering and Advertising Operations Create functional specifications, design and implement world class engineering solutions. To be successful, you must have Background in computer science or similar quantitative field 5+ years professional software development experience Strong analysis, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills Excellent programming skill Self-driven and responsible with experience in owning complete engineering solutions Proficient in Big Data technologies The desire to make yourself and the team around you better We're excited if you have Experience with digital ad platforms, technologies and systems Experience with distributed computing framework like Hive/Hadoop or Apache Spark Ability to thrive in fast-paced, iterative product development cycle Familiarity with functional programming The Roku culture Roku is a great place for people who want to work in a fast-paced environment where everyone is focused on the company's success rather than their own.
