Robert Half is seeking a Systems Engineer III who will assist in maintaining the integrity, availability and security of the Robert Half computing infrastructure. This position will be part of the installation, configuration, patching, monitoring and fine-tuning the infrastructure across the organization in a timely and efficient manner. This also includes understanding and monitoring the network integration and related functions for Robert Half computing systems.

Responsibilities

• Architects and sizes infrastructure in AWS cloud for enterprise financial system
• Plans/designs, installs, and configures Deltek ERP system
• Maintains large and complex infrastructure systems requiring considerable judgement and design experience.
• Researches, evaluates, creates POC for new software and hardware selections and contributes to recommendation.
• Creates scripts medium to large in complexity to automate application and infrastructure builds in AWS cloud.
• Sets up and maintains CI/CD pipeline using Git and Jenkins, streamlines and automates release management process
• Uses Eclipse based tool called extender to deploy code to non-production environments
• Maintains and uses Splunk for log parsing and system trouble shooting
• Proactively maintains environments to ensure maximum up time.
• Proactively monitors application availability and performance in AWS
• Troubleshoots complex environment issues and recommends/performs mitigation steps
• Oversees system health checks and shares uptime report with stakeholders
• On call support for environment issues including planned and unplanned outages
• Performs software upgrades
• Reviews vulnerability risks and uses technical expertise and research results to recommend mitigations to risks on infrastructure and application software. Performs technical follow up with vendors as needed to remediate risks
• Applies patches to Windows and Linux servers coordinating with other IT teams
• Documents environment architecture, setup, and maintenance including for failover, disaster recovery, etc.
• Maintains documentation on all licensed software used by the team and coordinates annual audit activities
• Refreshes current environments and creates new scripts as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
• 7+ years administering Windows and Linux servers, installing and configuring enterprise systems
• 5+ years experience working on AWS cloud utilizing various services including infrastructure as code such as Chef, Puppet, Cloudformation, Ansible, etc.
• Intermediate to advanced experience working in IT in an enterprise environment.
• Demonstrated and applied experience with installation, configuration and maintenance of Server and Computer Systems.
• Demonstrated and applied experience with cloud templates, infrastructure/application scripting, and operationalizing applications in the cloud (HA, DR, Backup/Recovery, Security, etc).
• Experience setting up CI/CD pipeline using Git and Jenkins
• AWS certification preferred
• Strong in Linux bash scripting, Powershell & AWS CLI
• Familiar with languages such as Python, Ruby, etc.
• Basic working knowledge of SQL Server & Oracle DB (using Sqlplus, Sqldeveloper, Sql studio tools to run basic SQL commands..)
• Microsoft Certified on Windows Server 2008 and 2012 preferred.
