$66,600 - $78,300 annually (commensurate with experience)

A. POSITION PURPOSE

Under the general direction of the Assistant Director for Workforce Planning in the Department of Human Resources, this position is responsible for managing recruitment strategies and partnering with key constituents to create recruitment plans with an emphasis on Santa Clara University commitment to recruit, retain, develop and engage a diverse and talented workforce. This position is responsible for the development, communication, execution and enhancement of a comprehensive program of talent recruiting and hiring.

This is a fixed term, benefits-eligible position ending 6/30/2023, with the possibility of extension or conversion to regular status based on funding and/or business needs.

C. SPECIFIC DUTIES

Talent Recruiting

* Proactively engage and source qualified candidates for management and staff positions with emphasis on the quality and diversity of applicant pools and make recommendations and identify strategies to increase both, as needed.

* Identify partnerships and leverage pipeline opportunities

* Build talent pools that provide a clear view of talent supply and demand

* Administer the recruitment process including creation or revision of position descriptions, job posting and advertisements, applicant management tools (screening, interviews, etc.)

* Maintain relationships with executive recruiters and staffing agencies

* Proactively sources talent and identifies qualified candidates using creative methods such as networking, social media, and events

Coaching and Consultation for Search Committees

* Analyze positions using information obtained from hiring manager and various sources to determine job duties and establish minimum qualifications, knowledge, skills, and abilities

* Partner with Senior HR Partners, senior leaders, hiring managers, and search committees to discuss needs and develop recruitment strategies to attract top quality, diverse candidates that support and drive a high performance culture

* Develop and maintain appropriate recruitment resources and tools, including selection criteria and interviewing techniques

* Advise regarding HR policies, procedures, and HR Programs

Marketing Strategies

* Develop innovative sourcing and outreach strategies; become familiar with higher education and job specific organizations for advertising and marketing

* Partner with internal teams and hiring managers to assist in creating a network of diverse talent

* Build and leverage a social media strategy, job boards, internet sourcing and other technical means to source and attract the best talent

* Attends job fairs and other networking functions to source and recruit qualified candidates

* Designs and writes job announcements, bulletins, brochures, advertisements, and correspondence

Compliance

* Ensure talent acquisition practices and reporting are compliant with University policy and all federal, state and local laws

* Stay abreast of recruiting issues and trends, labor laws, and legislative initiatives that have short and long-term implications to the University

Training

* Drive the development and delivery of training programs, resources and tools that support the staff recruitment efforts at the university

Reporting

* Track talent acquisition metrics and provide regular updates and reports.

Other duties and special projects as assigned

D. QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge

* Demonstrated experience with creative methods of sourcing candidates

* Direct knowledge of human resource programs, procedures, and practices

* Knowledge of applicant tracking systems, social media and recruiting process workflows

* Understanding and appreciation of the mission of Santa Clara University and the vision and values of a Jesuit Catholic educational institution

Abilities

* Demonstrated ability to create, develop and implement a successful talent management program

* Ability to understand the needs of the hiring manager as well as to ask questions that will help identify the right candidate(s); create recruitment strategies and recruitment plans; and ability to communicate unrealistic requirement goals to hiring managers

* Ability to ascertain the competence of candidates against job description

* Ability to attend job fairs, networking events and other functions to recruit individuals.

* Demonstrate the ability to manage time and prioritize workload to multitask and achieve goals in a deadline driven environment

* Proven ability to work effectively as a member of a team and independently and work collaboratively with peers, colleagues and partners

* Demonstrate a genuine desire to contribute to a collaborative, ethical, and professional team environment

* Ability to gather, organize, and analyze narrative and statistical data; analyze problems, formulate strategies, and make recommendations

* Ability to ascertain the competence of candidates against job description

* Ability to represent the department with tact and diplomacy and maintain confidentiality

Education

* Bachelor's degree required in relevant field

* HR certification preferred

Experience

* 5+ years of professional experience required in recruiting and/or human resources with a preference for experience in higher education

* Significant full-cycle recruiting experience (full cycle recruiting: classification analysis, determining staffing needs, developing job descriptions, posting advertisements, diversity outreach, reviewing employment standards, facilitating interviews etc.)

* Experience with an applicant tracking system. Workday preferred
