Job description

IgGenix is an early-stage, venture-backed biotechnology company translating research discoveries into transformative therapies for individuals with allergies. It was founded on breakthrough advances in Steve Quake's laboratory at Stanford University in collaboration with nationally recognized allergy physician scientist Kari Nadeau. We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and detail oriented individual to join the growing team at IgGenix in South San Francisco, CA.

You will work at the forefront of allergy immunology by evaluating novel therapeutic antibodies in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. As part of a small and passionate team you will gain exposure to cutting edge techniques in cell culture, antibody production, protein production and cell-based assays. You will apply your skills in cell biology to run functional assays, express and characterize reagents, and evaluate antibody candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute cell-based and biochemical assays.
  • Process patient samples in a BSL-2 environment.
  • Maintain bacterial and mammalian cell cultures.
  • Perform molecular cloning for recombinant protein production.
  • Maintain a detailed electronic laboratory notebook.
  • Interpret and communicate results.
  • Shift hours occasionally based on experimental demands.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in biology, immunology, or a closely related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a molecular laboratory setting, with early-stage biotechnology experience preferred.
  • Expertise in mammalian cell culture, molecular cloning, and high-throughput cell-based assays in 96-well and/or 384-well plates.
  • Proficiency in human sample processing.
  • Experience in multicolor flow cytometry is strongly preferred.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail.
  • Highly effective communication.
  • Willingness to learn new techniques.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

This position requires working in a laboratory environment with biohazardous materials and hazardous chemicals. Personal protective equipment will be provided and must be worn when performing laboratory duties.
