Description

As a Technical Program Manager on the computational biology team, you are a technical leader with a proven track record in managing analytical projects using 'omics data from start to finish. You are an excellent written and verbal communicator who can manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, and collaborators. You are proactive, creative, and a self-starter who is comfortable in a dynamic, fast paced environment that is sometimes ambiguous. You are an expert at bridging the gap to our cross-functional colleagues in scientific and clinical teams to support the program's success. You have a passion for the life sciences, are highly organized, and are excited about the mission of Verily.

Responsibilities

  • Build out, provide structure, and drive prioritization for the team's research project analysis plans and projects to improve codebase organization and processes.
  • Integrate feedback over time from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate results and timelines to senior leadership of external stakeholders and partners.
  • Identify areas of risk and respond proactively.
  • Develop agendas, notes action items and other program management support.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related), or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3-5 years of life science industry experience, including informal program management.
  • Experience in bash, SQL, R and/or Python.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate teams to deliver analysis results in a research setting.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Formal program management experience.
  • Experience analyzing 'omics data in translational research.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - able to establish relationships with cross-functional teams and to manage various personalities and changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, analyze opportunities, define effective approaches, and proactively overcome challenges.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
