Job description
Parker + Lynch is partnering with a rapidly-growing player in the blockchain industry to hire a VP, Corporate Controller. This position reports into the Head of Finance & Accounting and will be instrumental in building out a robust corporate accounting team. The right candidate will have hands-on experience as a Controller with exposure to global consolidations, reporting, technical accounting, and operational accounting. This company is fully-remote, with Headquarters in San Francisco. Exposure to blockchain or crypto-currency would be beneficial.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
● Oversight of all accounting and reporting activities
● Lead initiatives around in-housing accounting functions including operational accounting, financial reporting, and technical accounting
● Provide relevant and timely financial information to the senior leadership team to enable a balanced and objective assessment of the company's financial health, strategy and objectives
● Lead all day-to-day accounting operations and supervise team members including functional responsibility over general accounting, accounts payable, revenue recognition, technical accounting matters and more
● Develop and streamline accounting policies in accordance with GAAP accounting.
● Manage accurate and timely month-end close processes in NetSuite
● Responsible for the design, development and improvement of accounting and control processes
● Develop and own robust global/corporate financial statement consolidation process.
● Drive resolutions to complex accounting issues in emerging topics (i.e., cryptocurrency accounting, decentralization, cryptocurrency taxation, and more)
● Lead the annual audit to ensure completion in a timely manner
● Develop team members by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training and feedback, and maintaining strong team relationships
● Assist management in completing analysis and operational-related projects on an ad-hoc basis
Qualified Candidates Will Have:
● Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
● 12+ years of combined experience in public accounting and corporate accounting roles;
● Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and team building skills, comfortable interacting and motivating personnel at all levels of the organization
● Experience overseeing technical accounting at companies with complex transactions (i.e., joint ventures, M&A activities, equity transactions)
● Proven record of successfully building an accounting team in a growth stage company
● Demonstrated ability to integrate and implement emerging technologies and financial tools in day to day accounting operations
