Job description

Our client is seeking a Human Resources Assistant that can perform the following duties:

  • Answer questions and provide information to employees and the general public.
  • Prepare job announcement bulletins; answer inquiries regarding the recruitment process.
  • Assist in the selection process; assist in preparation of interview packets for interview panel; assist with scheduling applicants for interviews; assist with scheduling applicants for pre-employment drug/alcohol testing.
  • Assist in preparation and processing personnel documents related to hiring, promotions, salary adjustments, terminations, and evaluations.
  • Assist in the administration of employee benefits; explain benefit programs; complete benefit enrollment forms; enter enrollment data in benefits administration application.
  • Respond to employment verifications pertaining to current and past employees. Update and maintain departmental files, including archiving system.
  • Process TAP requests for HR staff; process reconciliations for HR staff.
  • Assist with processing of CR s (Check Requisitions) and PR s (Purchase Requisitions).
  • Assist with research, compiling, verifying and providing a variety of information for reports,

special projects, interviews, Council and committee meetings, employee orientations and other personnel-related functions.

  • Prepares and distributes job postings.
  • Implement and maintain standard filing systems.
  • Understand Tribal and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Operate a variety of office equipment including a calculator, copier, fax machine, computer and assigned software.
  • Attend and participate in job fairs and meetings as assigned. Communicate effective, both orally and in writing.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Basic record-keeping and report preparation techniques.
  • Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary.
  • Oral and written communication skills / Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
  • Perform a variety of complex and professional human resources functions in the recruitment,

examination, selection, classification, and compensation of classified and certificated employees.

  • Coordinate and schedule pre-employment examinations.
  • Assist with processing employment applications and other personnel-related documents.
  • Assist with coordinating the interviewing of applicants.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and privileged information.
  • Compose basic correspondence and written materials independently.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
  • Assist with maintenance of records.
  • Plan and organize work.
  • Meet schedules and time lines.
  • Work with people from diverse cultures, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds and must always maintain cultural sensitivity.


Pay Rate = $22/HR
