Job Title: Human Resources Manager
Classification: Salaried/Exempt
Reports To: Finance Director
Core Hours: Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm

Summary: The HR Manager is responsible for day-to-day operations in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, employment law compliance, payroll processing, records management, employment claims. The role will also be instrumental in guiding personnel related decisions of the company by providing human resource related data and analysis to the leadership team. Essential Duties The essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Employment
- Manages recruitment efforts for all personnel. Assist hiring managers by coordinating personnel recruitments including application review, scheduling and/or performing interviews to match experience with specific job-related requirements.
- Conducts employee onboarding and helps plan training & development.
- Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
- Schedules and monitor performance evaluation process
- Develops and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook.
Employee Relations
- Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations and assist in the resolution of issues and problems.
- Maintains and coordinates employee anniversary recognition programs.
- Promotes programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
- Coordinates company-wide employee communications.
- Coordinates company-wide tasks related to performance management.
- Provide mediation, supervisor training and counseling for employee conflicts.
- Reviews and guides management recommendations for employment terminations.
- Represents the company for any unemployment claims.
- Administers Workers Compensation including claims resolution.
Benefits
- Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees.
- Performs year end 401k administration in conjunction with 3rdparty, as well as necessary employee communications throughout the year.
- Provides support to employees in various topics such as leaves, compensation etc.
- Maintains benefits committee meetings.
Administration
- Assists in development, documentation and implementation of human resource policies.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Payroll processing through use of third-party payroll processor.
- Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory.
- Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Participates in Emmi and California Collection projects and directives.

Physical Demands

- Remain stationary for long periods of time at a workstation desk, operating a computer keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment.

- Extend above the shoulder in order to place or retrieve objects.
- Ability to grasp, raise, lower and/or move objects of various sizes and weights:
- Individually regularly manipulate objects weighing up to 20lbs
- With assistance occasionally manipulate objects weighing from 21lbs to 30lbs
Travel Some travel is expected for this position.
Skills/Experience
- Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures.
- Good knowledge of employment/labor laws.
- Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems will be a plus
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Aptitude in problem-solving.
- Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach.
- AA in Business administration or relevant field.
- Additional HR training will be a plus.
