Job description

Position: Automation Engineer II, Req#: ROCGJP
Location: Vacaville, CA (100% Onsite)
Duration: 7 Months contract
Job Description:
Providing automation design and support to the systems controlled via PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), VSCs (Vendor Supplied Controllers), and Integrity Testers (ITs). This work will include working with all applicable departments, including Manufacturing, Quality, and Technology, to implement continuous improvement changes, support MAR (Make Assess Release) activities, and assist on capital projects when required
Education and Experience:

* BS/MS/Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a combination of equivalent training and experience.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience in the design, implementation, and/or support of instrumentation and control systems, preferably in the Bio-Pharmaceutical, Pharmaceutical, food, or other batch processing industries.
Skills:

* Understanding of large-scale cGMP manufacturing environments.
* Successful demonstration of technical expertise, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving ability.
* Working knowledge of Automation/Control Systems preferred (Rockwell PLC, Rockwell SCADA, Wonderware)
Roles and Responsibilities:

* Develop, review and approve applicable automation-related specifications and any other related documentation.
* Perform off-line and online coding, testing, and peer-reviewing.
* Support or lead design, development, and execution of Automation Change Records (ACRs) and control qualification/commissioning test documentation.
* Provide technical assessments of proposed changes from other departments and evaluations of discrepancies that occur during manufacturing operations.
* Perform troubleshooting of process, equipment, and system malfunctions or failures, involving PLCs / VSCs / ITs, including after-hours support.
* Perform detailed reviews of executed ACRs and tests for completeness and accuracy.
* Lead the implementation of immediate corrective and preventative actions to ensure continued compliant operation.
* Serve as the automation representative across functional departments at various levels to drive efficient issue resolution and change implementation.
* Work with Manufacturing, Quality, and Technology departments to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement changes, and support capital projects.
* Assist with automation testing, debug, and startup activities.
* Perform Quality discrepancy evaluations/assessments and provide support for Investigations.
* Perform troubleshooting and provide support for PLC system and software issues.
* Perform off-line and online coding, testing, and peer reviews.
* Develop automation functional-specific documents.
* Review, revise, and approve automation documents.
* Represent automation engineering on multidisciplinary and cross-functional project teams.
* Support and/or lead development and execution of automation change records (CRs and ACRs) and execute control qualification/commissioning test documentation #LI-FRESH
