Job description

As a Paralegal for our law firm, you will have the opportunity to support a team of dedicated

attorneys and staff in the fight for justice. We practice law in the fields of medical malpractice, birth injury, personal injury, premises liability, nursing home negligence, and serious motor vehicle accidents. Our Paralegals play an integral role in improving our clients' lives and the world. Applicants must be highly organized, pay meticulous attention to detail, be self-motivated, able to work as part of a team, and have litigation process experience.


The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation matters. This candidate should feel comfortable conducting research, doing data entry, scheduling, maintaining case files, and completing other ad-hoc requests, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Legal fact and basic legal research
  • Coordinate and schedule calendars
  • Docketing litigation deadlines
  • Case Management, all aspects
  • Schedule appointments, depositions, and meetings with clients, witnesses, experts
  • File pleadings electronically in both the state and federal court filing systems
  • Responsible for all aspects of Discovery
  • Prepare disclosure documents for production
  • Draft Subpoenas, Entries of Appearance, Notices of Deposition, Scheduling Orders, Pretrial Orders, and rule-based motions
  • Send out Medical Request Letters
  • Organize medical records, review and prepare same for production
  • All aspects of trial preparation including exhibits and witnesses
  • Conduct research, investigations, and background checks for civil and criminal cases as needed


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 1+ years' as Litigation Legal Assistant or Paralegal
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office application suite
  • Applicants must be vaccinated for COVID-19


Benefits

  • Base salary $40,000-52,000 to start, with potential for bonuses and salary increases as merit warrants
