As an Hispanic Serving Institution, we are looking for a dynamic Advancement professional who understands how to serve traditionally under-represented students through philanthropy. We seek an individual who can help us meet the needs of our students in and out of the classroom and remove the barriers that keep them from enrolling, persisting, and earning their degrees. The Donor Relations & Prospect Development Coordinator will design, develop, deliver, and administer donor relations and prospect development activities, in addition to other Advancement operations services. This position will report to the Vice President of Operations and Advancement at CSU Pueblo and will collaborate with the CSU Pueblo Foundation and the Colorado State University System. This position may require travel to Pueblo, Denver, and beyond, and will require demonstrated ability to work remotely and meet deadlines without daily supervision.
Description of Job
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Donor Relations & Prospect Development Manager will report to the Vice President of Operations and Advancement at CSU Pueblo, and will collaborate with Regional Development Officers and other stakeholders in order to:
* Execute our new shared vision by ensuring that CSU Pueblo (a) remains accessible and affordable, (b) develops people, and (c) designs learning and support systems that support enhanced experiential education, soft skill development, as well as personalized advising and mentoring
* Foster and track activity on major gift prospects for CSU Pueblo, enhancing University fundraising success
* Support writing and design of multi-faceted, complex gift proposals
* Work collaboratively with numerous internal and external stakeholders, providing development support for Vision 2028 initiatives
* Work remotely, or on site(s), as necessary and meet deadlines without daily supervision
* Identify new individual, foundation, and corporation donor prospects through researching background information and developing materials, creating marketing plans, and organizing related programs/events.
* Lead effort in major gift stewardship in order to retain and grow current donors
* Help to tell the story of CSU Pueblo Students, Faculty, and Staff in order to support development efforts for the university
REGULARLY PERFORMED JOB DUTIES
Proposal and Collateral Development
* Craft compelling and complex written, digital and/or oral proposals for solicitation of individual, corporate, and/or foundation donors or investment prospects
Donor Relations and Stewardship
* Create strategic and systematic plans to communicate with donors around gift recognition, insight into the impact and significance of their gift, etc.
* Identify, research, and steward major gift prospects, donors, and investment opportunities using specific metrics to track all activity and provide reports on outcomes
* Provide timely and reliable high-level qualitative and quantitative trend analysis that supports the strategic and operational effectiveness of CSU Pueblo's major and principal gift programs
Prospect Development and Research
* Work collaboratively with CSU Pueblo leadership team and other departments to obtain information on the development and status of projects and major program initiatives on campus
* Monitor reporting of proposals, portfolios and progress through the donor cycle
* Design and implement a comprehensive portfolio review process, to be conducted with frontline fundraisers

This is a grant funded position, renewable annually, based on budgetary approvals, project continuation, and renewal of Vision Program grant funding. Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in media, design, business, or development-related area, or Bachelor's degree and 5 years relevant experience
* Proven skills in supporting development professionals and leadership teams
* Demonstrated effective written, oral, digital and interpersonal communication skills including writing technical and financial reports, creating presentations of information in a clear and persuasive manner, and the ability to analyze, model, and showcase impact results
* Demonstrated knowledge of the best practices employed in an advancement/alumni or development setting
* Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships throughout the university and with outside stakeholders and partner organizations
* Proven time management skills, the ability to prioritize, and the acumen to keep well-documented records
* Demonstrated ability to work remotely, or on site, as necessary
* A minimum of two years of demonstrated success in progressively advanced fundraising/leadership support, higher education engagement and a record of accomplishments in two or more of these areas: client/student/employee relations, graphic design, prospect development/research and writing, stewardship and advancement or university operations
* Experience with campus communications and knowledge of higher ed or state systems
PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
* Master's degree and 3+ years relevant experience
* Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, or similar
* Experience supporting Advancement professionals
* Knowledge of higher education, including ability to package and sell CSU Pueblo's vision, mission, and guiding principles; versed in university achievements, infrastructure, and long-term planning
* Experience with Raiser's Edge
* Graphic design experience
* Advanced analytical, critical thinking, problem recognition/avoidance/resolution skills
* Advanced skill to meet predetermined goals and objectives through effective program/project planning, organization, execution and evaluation
* Five years of development/design, donor engagement, stewardship, or prospect management in higher education and/or nonprofit settings
