Purpose:

The Controller is responsible in leading the financial success of the business through managing all financial processes in accordance with policies and procedures to ensure financial stability.

Scope & Objective:

The Controller will prepare financial reports that summarize and forecast the organizations financial position, as well as develop plans for the long-term financial goals of the company. The Controller will manage and meet objectives related to cash flow management, financial accounting, recording journal entries, and coordinating payments with 3rd party vendors.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position will oversee the Finance Department. This position would also collaborate with any 3rd party accounting firms used to support the finance function.

Tasks/Duties & Job Responsibilities:

* Oversees the general accounting function, which includes AP, AR, cash management, reconciliation, financial reporting, cash flow analysis, and balance sheet management
* Maintains reconciled, adjusted accrual basis accounting records to support strategic planning
* Reconciliation of bank statements, accounts receivables and payables to the general ledger
* Monitoring the information flow between the accounting records and 3rd party apps, including making sure that key totals are equal or are reconciled between different systems
* Working with Management and Treasurer to independently manage authorized payables in alignment with approved cash flow and vendor relations strategies
* Prepare weekly cash flow / financial reports to be submitted to Revenue Cycle Manager
* Drive monthly analyses and reporting on financial performance and other key performance indicators provide variances to budgeted forecasts to support future planning
* Gathering and submitting financial information for outside financial parties such as income tax preparers, 1099 preparers, and cost report preparers
* Other duties and tasks as assigned and required.

Qualifications

* Education: Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or business required (CPA preferred)
* Experience: 5+ years of financial management and accounting experience, preferably in health care industry (specifically home health care or hospice)
* Strong proficiency with Excel and other computerized accounting systems is required
* High energy, hands-on professional with a successful record of financial management accomplishments in the health care, service, or business industries.
