(Remote) DE or LAPP/SAR Mortgage Underwriter
One of the top Mortgage corporations in the country (wholesale & retail environment) is currently looking for an experienced DE or LAPP/SAR Mortgage Underwriter. Founded over 30 years ago this mortgage corp is backed by a multi-faceted real estate brokerage, investment, & insurance company. They are a well-capitalized debt free banker, FHA Full Eagle, Rural Housing Approved, Fannie & Freddie Approved Seller Servicer and VA Approved Lender with 10x current excess balance sheet and warehouse lending capacity.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Ensure all data noted in loan origination system is consistent with documentation contained in the loan file.
  • Review loan files to validate that all requirements of Companys product descriptions have been met and the loan is underwritten in accordance to investor and/or applicable agency (FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, USDA) guidelines.
  • Verify that all requirements of the operations/policy manual, as it pertains to underwriting, have been met.
  • Communicate proactively with the internal staff on the status of all loans.
  • Complete all task tracking requirements in the loan origination system.
  • Review the loan appraisal and any supporting documentation in accordance with standard underwriting guidelines as defined by the product-specific investor and/or the agency guidelines.
What You Need for this Position
  • 5+ yrs of Residential Mortgage Underwriting experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • DE Certified Preferred
  • LAPP/SAR Preferred
