Job description
The Position
Entry of all statistical information for applications, quotes, change requests and renewals after underwriter has approved. All work processed according to Rater Associate authority level. The primary goal is to produce a quality technical assistance to insured's, agents and coworkers and to meet service standards.
Job Responsibilities
* Entry of statistical information and computing of premiums is required for all lines of business
* Rate renewal business 60 days prior to expiration date
* Prepare and rate new submissions as directed by Underwriter
* Maintain familiarity with state insurance regulations, program underwriting guidelines and filings, and ISO rules for all states within the underwriting territory
* Maintain open communication and build relationships with Program team
* Process policy change/endorsement requests within 72 hours of receipt
* Provide support for other Raters that are out of the office
* Assist other Raters in making sound rating decisions
* Prepare new and renewal business for underwriting including, but not limited to, cover sheets, building valuations, and flood zone determinations
* Complete additional consumer requests such as proposals, certificates, binders, optional quotes, and premium breakdowns
* Assist the Underwriter in building relationships and keeping open communications within the Underwriting Department, other departments within McNeil and Company, and any external customers
* Assist the Underwriter in mentoring the Commercial Lines Policy Analyst
* Process policy cancellations, non renewals and SERP quotes as needed
* When requested, assist Underwriter in releasing policy quotes, handle overflow of incoming calls and assist when possible
* Other duties as assigned

Education
* High School diploma required. College Education & or General Insurance Classes preferred
* One-year experience preferred
