JOB SUMMARY:
In the Colorado Division, the Financial Analyst fulfills two principal roles:
  1. Working closely with the VP of Land Development and Entitlements to manage the land development budgeting, contracting and cost accounting
  2. Working closely with the VP-Finance and Finance Manager to provide financial and operational forecasting, analyses and reporting to the Division management team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Land Development
  • Perform all aspects of land development contracting tasks including work order set-up, work order drafting, ensuring signed work orders are in place and change order management.
  • Set up new land development subcontractors and work closely with the ERP software (HB1) team to get all new subcontractors in the system.
  • Approve work order progress payments, retention billings, and utility billings.
  • Work closely with accounts payable to track payment status and/or resolve non-payment issues for vendors.
  • Be able to read, review, and identify which work orders are left open and which need to be closed.
  • Work with Project Managers and Land Development Administrator to process check requests for development field personnel and HOA's.

Accounting and Financial Reporting and Forecasting
  • Prepare weekly/monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Provide support in the development of the 3-Year/Annual Business Plans, Quarterly Forecasts and Flashes.
  • Perform miscellaneous cash receipts processing and depositing.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Certifications/Licenses
  • Currently have or are pursuing a College Degree in Accounting/Finance or similar field.

Experience
  • Prior experience in Finance/Accounting role preferred but not essential
  • Prior builder experience in Land Dept. and/or 1 to 2 years of Contract Administration experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • The Financial Analyst will collaborate extensively with our subcontractors; accordingly they must present themselves professionally at all times. Position requires excellent people skills coupled with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects to meet critical deadlines. Must be detail oriented. Position requires the ability to create and manage a variety of spreadsheets including the use of the HB1 software.

Work Requirements
  • Periodic increases in workload may require additional hours be worked on a given day beyond that of a normal work day.
  • Work will be a combination of on-site and remote work, depending on COVID restrictions and KB Home policy.
  • Must conduct business in a professional and ethical manner with co-workers, external business associates and subcontractors.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
  • Base Salary: the expected base salary range for this position is $60,000-75,000 per year depending on experience, paid semi-monthly.
  • Bonus: this position is eligible for an annual discretionary year-end bonus
