Job description
ICF is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to work in our Golden, Colorado office. In this role, you will work with product managers, technical architects, developers, and stakeholders to help define and organize business and technical requirements for our quantitative data processing, reporting, and customer insights platform for products relating to both traditional utility energy efficiency programs and new clean energy programs. This involves interviewing stakeholders to help refine and maintain requirements and keep product documentation current. Product documentation includes data mapping spreadsheets, product feature documentation, and configuration information for client implementations. Projects assigned will include high-profile and data-centric products.
This is a role for someone who likes to roll up their sleeves and really dive into the details. Candidates should be comfortable working on a software product development team following a scrum development methodology. Candidates should appreciate a collaborative environment but be highly independent and motivated to follow-up on tasks without prompting. Our software solution is quantitative and analytical so a desire and experience to work on complex subject material with a lot of nuance is a must.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create stories and tasks in JIRA to support the execution of client deliverables
- Ensure proper execution of operations work and dev-ops work (enhancements to current products)
- Lead meetings with stakeholders and help prepare functional requirements documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories
- Generate requirement specifications, use cases, process flow diagrams, and other system documentation into concise and specific language to facilitate stakeholder understanding
- Independently oversee project delivery through task tracking and project management using project management tools
- Work with and assist QA team to develop and implement test cases and acceptance criteria for releases
- Provide stakeholders training and one-on-one technical assistance
- Develop an understanding of the operational processes and procedures and take initiative on process improvements
- Support agile processes to prioritize workflow and ensure deadlines are met within an agile sprint framework.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS in quantitative subject (math, engineering, science, etc.) or demonstrated experience with technical or quantitative topics
- 5+ years of experience
- Experience with agile software development process
- Able to clearly define and document business processes and software requirements
- Enjoys developing system documentation to track issues and to work with developers to ensure that requirements are being met
- Balances and prioritizes multiple projects to meet goals, deliverables, and deadlines
- Works collaboratively and cohesively in a team environment
- Comfortable managing projects that leverage statistical modeling techniques
- Interest and experience with marketing outreach, especially email outreach, a plus
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in MS Office products
- Knowledge and experience with Smartsheet, JIRA or Confluence a plus
