Job Description
The Human Resources 'HR' Generalist will provide support in functional areas of human resources including but not limited to recruitment and employment, personnel records, employee relations, job evaluation, compensation management, benefits administration, organization development, training, and special projects. Assist with the development/implementation of human resources policies and procedures. Prepare reports in conformance with legislated requirements or organization needs. The HR Generalist works closely with the HR Managers to develop and implement business aligned HR programs and initiatives that promote effective business management and employee relations.
The essential job functions include, but are not limited to
- Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
- Handle employee relations counseling; provide on-going support and consultation to management and employees.
- Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars.
- Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals.
- Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
- Compile various reports from the HRIS system by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Acts as a resource for various HR special projects within or across business units or with corporate HR.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Implements human resources programs by providing human resources services, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, and labor relations; completing personnel transactions.

Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- High School diploma/GED.
- Bachelors/Associates in related field preferred but not required.
- 2 - 5 years of Human Resources Generalist experience preferred
- PHR certificated is a plus.
- Basic understanding of Recruiting and HR concepts, policies and procedures, and administrative procedures.
- Knowledge of HR principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and human resources information systems
- Demonstrated ability to provide the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and attention to detail.
- Strong skill in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and oral communication skills including professional telephone etiquette
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Ability to multi-task, manages a fluctuating workload, and work independently with little or no supervision.
- Must possess valid driver's license and be eligible to drive a company vehicle according to Select's insurance guidelines.
- Ability to communicate and speak clearly (bilingual is preferred but not required).

Physical Demands and Exposures
- This position works inside a climate-controlled environment. The Company will supply adequate training and equipment to perform the functions of the job.
- Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm.
- Involves sitting at a desk for extended periods of time.
- Needs high degree of concentration in a busy area.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
