Your Opportunity:
The Charles Schwabs Technology organization is looking for an experienced and motivated mid-level PeopleSoft System Engineer with a Production Support background to be part of a team comprised of Subject Matter Experts supporting a large portfolio of systems and applications in the Finance and Regulatory Reporting Technology space. You will be responsible for working with a blended development team of on-shore and off-shore Subject Matter Experts, systems administrators, DBAs, and application analysts to perform troubleshooting and resolution efforts of incidents impacting production systems.
What you are good at:- Support Financial Services applications as a PeopleSoft System Engineer with a Production Support background
- Drive incident management calls, coordinate user communications during production outages
- Leverage ITIL principles to bring scale and efficiency to the organization
- Expand alerting and monitoring to improve Mean Time To Detect (MTTD) and Mean Time To Resolve (MTTR) metrics as part of analyzing trends and making recommendations for continuous improvement
- Provide clear, concise, and timely communication to Application Development and Business partners during the triage, troubleshooting, investigation, and resolution of any individual or system-wide outage
- Analyze and resolve application issues in production
- Document and maintain resolutions in the corporate Knowledge Base System
- Develop and enhance monitoring dashboards, and alerts process to increase availability of the application
- Develop/Improve Production Readiness process to ensure the team is ready to support features deployed to production
- Coordinate application maintenance activities, such has OS upgrade, Certificate Updates, Password Rotations, Disaster Recovery, Currency Patching, etc.
- Provide off hours on-call escalation on a rotational basis in support of service recovery events
- Provide off hours Release / Deployment support and application health validation as requested
- Responsible for ensuring the Change Implementation Management policies are adhered to for all changes deployed to Production
- Experienced PeopleSoft System Engineer
- Drive incident management calls, coordinate user communications during production outages
- Strong ownership mentality with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Be able to easily communicate with Application Owners and Business Partners to discuss their issues and work through to a resolution
- Solid track record in an operational/support role, understands incident/problem/change/release management and how to drive stability across the organization
What you have:
- College degree in Computer Science , Engineering, MIS, or related disciplines
- Strong ownership mentality with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Self-motivated with exceptional oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- PeopleSoft FSCM, with a preference for experience working in AP, GL, and AR modules
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft Process Scheduler
- Ability to create, analyze, and debug moderately complex SQL queries.
- Ability to create and debug Unix shell scripts
- A strong Production Support background that includes ITIL certification and Change Management experience, resolving Tier 2 level escalations
- Hands on experience supporting enterprise integrations via Control-M or similar enterprise automation technology
- Experience presenting issues to development teams for L3 escalation
- Productions Support background that includes understanding of ITIL Principles and Concepts
- Excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills as well as poise under pressure
- Working knowledge of automated deployment processes and tools such as Bitbucket/Bamboo and/or Jenkins
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Splunk, ITRS and AppDynamics for monitoring environments
- The ability to troubleshoot and determine root cause of incidents and system outages
- Preferred Familiarity with SAP Concur (T&E)
- Preferred Familiarity with Coupa Risk Assess
- Preferred Familiarity with SAP Ariba, emphasis on B&I module
- Preferred - A Systems and/or Network Administration background
- Preferred Experience working in Kanban or similar Agile process frameworks
- Preferred - Experience working an Agile environment primarily Kanban
- Preferred - Debug level PeopleTools Proficiency (App Designer, Application Engine, SQR, Integration Broker)
