SUMMARY

The Human Resources Generalist (HRG) is responsible for various HR activities, work, and projects at Jacobs Vehicle Systems (JVS). The primary focus of the position will be in regard to providing generalist support to all functions in the Bloomfield, CT facility. This also includes data analytics, reporting, compensation, payroll administration and continuous improvement. The incumbent will own most aspects of talent acquisition and compensation and support the HR team with benefits, and employee & labor relations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Talent Acquisition:
* Owns the full-cycle recruiting process for hourly & salaried positions within JVS.
* Runs/owns the New Hire Orientation process including updating the presentation when needed, executing orientation sessions, and sending all appropriate communications to candidates, employees and managers.
* Oversee training plans and facilitate successful onboarding for new associates
* Owns the recruiting/bidding/bumping procedures for unionized employees.

* Data Analytics & Reporting:
* Consult directly with business and HR leaders to identify talent related challenges and analyze data to develop actional insights that can help the business mitigate those challenges.
* Consult with HR to identify and track key metrics and/or KPI's that inform or define individual, operational, and financial performance.
* Compensation & Payroll Support:
* Support the coordination and execution of annual merit and or periodic market adjustment reviews.
* Take lead on preparing competitive compensation offers; ensuring all cash and equity compensation information is aligned with parent company compensation philosophy.
* Responsible for eTime system to include timecard approval and adjustments in a timely manner.
* Assists supervisors with eTime and reporting structures.

* Employee & Labor Relations:
* Interprets and explains human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations, including those derived from Standards of Conduct, the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and other JVS policies and procedures.
* Assists the Labor Relations Manager relative to Grievances, Discipline, and other contractual issues.
* Effectively manages performance with managers and functional leaders.
* Answer questions and resolve benefit issues for associates.
* Conducts thorough investigations and reports out appropriately
