The Role
Entegris is currently seeking a talented and innovative Analytical Scientist to join our Analytical Services Organization in Danbury, CT.
In this role, you will support several of our product development teams by deploying relevant analytical techniques and measurement systems. In line with our values, which fosters an environment of teamwork, you will have an opportunity to collaborate with technicians, scientists, applications engineers, local management, sales & marketing, as well as global technical team members.
The ideal candidate will be results oriented and an excellent team player, with a strong knowledge of chemistry, and demonstrate advanced knowledge in the fundamental theories and principles of Mass Spectrometry, NMR and Chromatography.
In this role you will
* Train and mentor junior scientists and laboratory technicians
* Use product and testing expertise to collaborate with internal and external customers to determine root causes in product development and quality problems
* Respond to customers' feedback on technical problems and improve product value and customer satisfaction
* Utilize knowledge of analytical chemistry to develop and validate fit for purpose methods to support new product introduction activities
* Author internal white papers and present scientific work at external technical conferences
* Solve customers' quality complaints and provide solutions to their technical issues
* Participate in technology exchanges internally and externally with customers and production support teams both in person and virtually
* Continuous training on the various analytical techniques and methods
Traits we believe make a strong candidate
* PhD in Analytical Chemistry with 0-5 years of chemical or related industry experience
* Advanced knowledge and hands on practical experience with the operation and troubleshooting of analytical instrumentation: HPLC, IC, GC, LC-MS, GC-MS, NMR
* Prior experience working in a chemical/gas manufacturing industry or related industry is highly preferred
* Experience in the chemical analysis of complex matrices and air and moisture sensitive material preferred
* Knowledge of proper safe handling/disposal of chemicals and ability to maintain a clean and safe workspace
* Experience with applicable quality tools such as pareto, FMEA's, SPC/SQC, histograms, trend analysis, process mapping, design of experiments, cause and effect diagrams, 8D problem solving methodology
* Ability to travel up to 10% of time (domestic & international)

* Ability to learn and become proficient at several analytical techniques
