The east Region HR team seeks an experienced HR Generalist in our Miami, FL office. We are looking for an energetic, highly motivated, self-starter to join our team as an HR Business Partner. Under the direction of the Regional HR Manager, this individual will provide HR generalist duties in a corporate shared services environment for a decentralized multi-company work force. In this role this candidate will be based in our CEO's region and will have the opportunity to interface and support all levels of management, administrative and technical staff. The importance of a customer service focus in this role cannot be overstated.

How will you contribute to the team?

  • Provide counsel and advice to employees and managers on company policies and procedures, and applicable local, state and federal laws. Take preventive measures to minimize potential problems and achieve satisfactory conflict resolution. Must possess willingness to deal with conflict and take a proactive approach in dealing with issues and disciplinary actions
  • Support decentralized employees and managers in shared service environment
  • Assist in the administration of insurance benefits by explaining basic plan coverage and directing personnel to available resources for claims problems. Coordinate Open Enrollment activities at assigned offices
  • Support the centralized New Hire Orientation process at assigned locations
  • May assist managers with drafting job requisitions as well as completion of Offer Letter Request form. Coordinate and participate in behavioral interviews
  • Mail Welcome Letter/Packet to new hires. Respond to inquiries from new hires regarding completion of paperwork or routine benefits questions.
  • Counsel managers regarding the appropriate job and salary classification when preparing offer letters and/or Notice of Personnel Action
  • Coordinate Service Awards, presentations at assigned locations by scheduling with Office Leader. May assist managers with preparing for presentation
  • Coach and counsel managers and employees in the Performance Management process and employee relations
  • Assist Learning & Development with determining employee training and liaise with internal resources to oversee its delivery
  • Apply advanced knowledge of Human Resources Administration including state and Federal Compliance and Benefit Programs but not limited FMLA, FLSA, EEO, COBRA, and OFCCP
  • Multi task while maintaining attention to detail
  • Understand and practice confidentiality at all times. Use good judgment when sharing and escalating information, and be a positive change agent for culture shift.

What will you contribute?

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or in a related field combined and a minimum of three-five years of hands-on HR experience. Relevant professional certification (PHR or SPHR) preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of progressive HR Generalist experience; benefits administration, recruiting and hiring, conflict resolution, EEO compliance, HR policies and procedures, State and Federal regulations and compliance in a shared service environment. Experience providing HR support to international teams specifically Canadian and South American staff is desirable.

Ability to communicate in a structured manner, influence stakeholders, and address appropriate aspects of challenges or opportunities. Exercise good judgment, tact and problems solving skills. Possess the ability to engage, inspire and influence people. Ability to work under stress of multiple tasks and deadlines. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and effectively deal with all levels of employees and managers.

Must possess a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company policy. Use of a personal vehicle may be required when no company vehicle is available. Personal vehicle must be in good working order and insured. Mileage reimbursement will be available.
