Job description

Nesco Resource is looking for a Steel Shop Associate in Watertown, CT. This is a temp to hire position for the right candidate. Schedule is 1 st shift, Monday- Friday from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM. This position pays $15.00/hour with an increase based on performance once taken permanently. MUST be available to work overtime. The steel shop is a close knit group of hard workers. Must be able to work independently, but also with the team when needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Ability to use a variety of machine shop tools and equipment in the production of steel fabricated parts.


• Assist in preventative maintenance as needed.


• Ability to lift 70+ pounds


• Adhere to company safety practices.


• Ability to perform the following functions: Swedge, bend, paint, clean, debur, drill (Steel fabricated items as required).


• Maintain good housekeeping.


• Familiar with basic inventory control practices.


• Knowledge of quality control practices. By visual inspection and print identification.


• Ability to work long hours as needed, dependent on customer demands.


• Complete all other duties as assigned.

Skills/Requirements:

• Ability to read and write in English.


• Ability to work with a drill press and grinding machine


• Basic math skills (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division)


• Maintain excellent attendance record.


• Must be able to work independently or in a team environment based on job duties for the day.


• Must be self-motivated.


• Must be reliable and responsible.
