$136,260.00 - $175,482.00
The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) whose mission is to enhance the fiscal and financial stability, accountability and integrity of the Government of the District of Columbia is in search of an Agency Fiscal Officer. This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Economic Development and Regulation Cluster (EDRC), Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking (DISB), Department of For-Hire Vehicles (DFHV) and Commission on Arts and Humanities (CAH). The incumbent will be responsible for the planning, operation, development, supervision and monitoring of the operating and capital budgets, grants management and financial management programs for the Agency.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Overseeing the supervision of agency financial staff involving a combination of professional, technical, administrative and clerical positions
- Developing and revising financial and fiscal policies, plans, procedures, goals, and systems that may be required by the agency
- Keeping agency officials and staff members informed of new financial systems design and improvements that are developed and required by the D.C. Office of Budget and Planning
- Reviewing both the capital and operating budget proposals and preparing recommendations
- Preparing recurring and special reports of a budgetary, financial or analytical nature as required or requested by Federal and District agencies, the ACFO, Director or other management officials
- Attending meetings with top-level officials to advise on policies and procedures that have budget and grant management implications, such as in budget formulation, Federal policies and procedures to maximize the amount of Federal matching funds and Federal grants
- Performing other related duties as assigned
Minimum qualifications: Seven (7) years of progressive experience performing the related duties and responsibilities such as planning, supervising, and providing authoritative advice on all matters regarding budget and financial management.
In addition, applicant must possess a Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or public administration or related field. Applicants must submit an official transcript that verifies Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field. If applicable, your application package must include a foreign credential evaluation of all foreign transcripts. Acceptable foreign credential equivalency reports must be provided by organizations that have current membership with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE).
