Consumer and Small Business Banking (CSBB) provides financial services to 21 million retail bank households and three million small business customers through approximately 4,900 retail branches, 17 customer service centers, and approximately 13,000 ATMs in 36 states and the District of Columbia. We serve and help individuals and families in many aspects of their lives, helping them buy homes, open first bank and savings accounts, buy cars to get to and from work or school, and start or grow small businesses. Deposit Products includes deposit and debit product groups, offering innovative checking, savings, and payment strategies that form the core of our customers' relationship with Wells Fargo and fulfill a broad array of their financial needs.
Reporting to the head of Banking Inclusion Initiative, the Banking Inclusion Initiative Program Lead will define and lead the execution of a portfolio of complex and innovative cross-Business Group initiatives and manage external partnerships critical to delivering on Wells Fargo's 10-year commitment to bring unbanked people into the mainstream banking system (announced in May 2021). As an advocate for the unbanked internally and externally, this role will also collaborate on Banking Inclusion Initiative (BII) programs led by other teams, influence product and marketing strategy and leverage initiative strategies and impact to create storytelling opportunities. The ideal candidate has experience leading national strategies and initiatives, research, and/or policy advocacy efforts that drive banking / financial inclusion and improve the financial health of underserved communities.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and collaborate with cross-Business Group teams to strategize, plan and execute a portfolio of BII initiatives and programs. One position will focus on Clear Access Banking outreach, onboarding and engagement, collaboration with Bank On / Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund, Minority Depository Institutions (MDIs) and/or fintechs, and potential new products and offerings (working with product leads). One position will focus on the National Unbanked Task Force and its subcommittees, Think Tanks, research and policy advocacy.
- Engage senior leaders, conduct stakeholder interviews, market and competitive analyses to inform strategies and initiatives.
- Develop business cases and define execution plans and roadmaps.
- Define KPIs and success targets for the initiatives, establish tracking and reporting processes and measure progress against commitments.
- Engage Legal, Risk, Compliance, Control (LRCC) and Third Party to evaluate risks and define processes and controls to mitigate risks. Ensure portfolio of initiatives and programs adhere to policies, laws and regulations.
- Source, evaluate, and structure strategic partnerships with leading organizations best equipped to help execute on portfolio of initiatives.
- Assess partner leadership, operational, and financial capacity and conduct due diligence necessary to evaluate proposals and manage risk.
- Ensure regular communication with strategic partners and escalate any critical challenges. Hold partners accountable for their deliverables.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal business leaders, and serve as an internal and external resource and expert on banking inclusion, sharing news, best practices, research and policy developments with colleagues throughout Wells Fargo and external stakeholders and informing banking products and services.
- Serve as an occasional spokesperson on behalf of Wells Fargo on banking inclusion.
- Proactively collaborate with Wells Fargo communications team to strategically communicate and position Wells Fargo as a leader in banking inclusion.
- Maintain a network of professional relationships with key government, philanthropic, nonprofit and community leaders.

Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning
Other Desired Qualifications
- Experience in assessing challenges and opportunities, defining strategies and executing initiatives to increase banking/ financial inclusion and/or improve financial health
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and strategically about financial inclusion outcomes, program design and execution
- Experience developing KPI's, setting targets and tracking progress for complex initiatives
- Experience building strong relationships, collaborating across large organizations and engaging external stakeholders
- Ability to work proactively with minimum supervision, handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and effectively manage expectations in a dynamic and complex environment
- Ability to assess the leadership, track record, fiscal health and capacity of potential third party partner organizations
- Ability to serve as a change agent and lead through influence
- Be comfortable leading high profile initiatives and deliverables; often with ambiguous or undefined scope and shifting timelines
- Comfort with and inspiration by transformational change and the opportunities it can present, and resilience in the face of challenges.
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years' experience in financial inclusion/health products, programs and/or financial services
- Experience working with or supporting diverse, unbanked and/or low-income communities
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial, innovative mindset
Job Expectations
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.
