Job description

Job Title: Civil Rights Program and Strategy Lead
Location: Washington D.C
Duration: 10 months

Summary:
We are looking for someone to temporarily backfill for the team's Program and Strategy Lead, who serves as a key strategic and operational leader, provides support to the company's Civil Rights VP, and manages the civil rights strategy and programming for the team, working with cross-functional teams across the company.

Responsibilities
This person will help the Civil Rights Team:
Instill civil rights best practices within the company
Identify proactive civil rights priorities for the company and guide the implementation of those priorities
Develop systems, processes, or other measures to improve the company's ability to spot and address potential civil rights implications in products and policies before they launch
Give voice to civil rights risks and concerns

Specific Program Lead Responsibilities:
Assist with the cross-functional operations for civil rights initiatives
Support the Civil Rights VP on driving the company-wide civil rights strategy, which includes proactively identifying civil rights priorities for the company and then guiding the implementation of those priorities
Partner with teams across the company to build new processes and systems or fold into existing ones
Collaboration with internal policy, product, legal and comms teams on decisions, escalations and initiatives that involve civil rights issues
Partner with External Affairs on engagement with external stakeholders and the civil rights community Stay up to date on relevant and arising civil rights and policy issues and build proactive strategies

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (Advanced degree preferred)
8-10 years of experience working in complex, cross-functional work environments and managing large initiatives independently
Strong systems thinker with exceptional organizational / project management skills
Expertise with managing executives on complex decision-making exercises
Experience operating independently and executing flawlessly on both the strategic and operational level
Knowledge of and passion for critical civil rights issues that impact tech products and policies
