This is a full-time position with a salary of $85K annually plus excellent benefits. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years' experience in clinical setting, understands clinical workflow. Experience with MyAvatar, SQL and reporting would be pluses, but not required.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Provides support to a defined functional area, which includes installing software, testing, and creating databases, and developing system enhancements. Consults with users to identify current operating problems and to clarify project objectives. Maintains documentation detailing user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify application systems.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides Information System Support by installing software applications, testing and creating databases and developing system enhancements.
- Analyzes business processes to identify department needs and requirements; designs software applications to improve operating procedures and resolves problems and barriers to providing effective service.
- Checks and verifies data with users to ensure correct functionality and efficiency; researches unusual results and initiates corrective actions to reconcile discrepancies. Maintains user documentation detailing steps required to enhance operating procedures.
- Analyzes and modifies systems to determine capabilities for proposed projects; researches unusual results and occurrences; and works to develop recommendations or alternative solutions.
- Provides training and communication material to users and IS staff regarding applications, databases, and related systems operations.
- Participates in various special projects or assignments, as an individual or team member, such as integrating and implementing systems, creating databases and reports, evaluating applications procedures; and contributing expertise in development of proposals, recommendations, and strategies that promote achievement of overall goals and business plans.
- Participates in process improvement activities as appropriate. Anticipates and identifies developments in the field, in order to foster continuous improvement of services.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Knowledge of database design and development at a level normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor Degree in Information Systems, or similar.
- Experience in business process analysis, improvement, and redesign
- Knowledge of software application packages; working familiarity with computer operating systems and applications such as Netsmart's myAvatar and MS Office Suite, as is normally acquired through three years of information systems experience or an equivalent combination of training and education.
- Analytical abilities necessary to review and audit data and information, evaluate software system capabilities, identify, and resolve discrepancies.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to gather and exchange information with personnel; interpret user needs and computer programs. Communication skills necessary in order to present information effectively in person and in writing.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
- Reports to IS Application Development Manager.
- Has no responsibility for leading or supervising the work of others.
