Overview
Joint Strategic Technologies (JST) is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager with extensive experience identifying, developing, and qualifying government opportunities through proposal and transition support. The Senior Business Development Manager will prepare, present, and mature opportunities through the entire Business Development Lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have an established network throughout various government environments, strong knowledge of government programs and a thorough understanding of government business processes.
The Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for the execution of the overall JST growth strategy. They will work closely with JST leadership to identify, refine, and execute account plan strategies. Nurture key business relationships with existing and potential customers. Develop customer focused strategies and solutions to support company goals.

Senior Business Development Manager Responsibilities

  • Identify potential opportunities
  • Respond to RFIs/RFPs
  • Arrange meetings with key customers and stakeholders
  • Build and strengthen company relationships with industry partners
  • Develop and execute effective call plans for meetings with target clients, program managers, and industry partners
  • Develop account plans and growth opportunities with specific customers
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including other business development and capture team members, client executives, proposal managers, corporate infrastructure departments and program management teams to ensure effective, efficient, and integrated implementation of capture strategies
  • Identifying risks, and interpreting solicitation requirements with delivery staff, SMEs and proposal managers on win themes
  • Interface and manage teaming partners for existing relationship as well as developing potential future partners for upcoming opportunities
  • Willingness to attend relevant industry conferences, trade shows, forums, and industry days to grow strategic relationships with customers, investors, and important government figures
  • Meet or exceed established performance goals in support of overall corporate growth and success
Senior Business Development Manager Qualifications
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience selling services and/or solutions to a variety of Government Organizations
  • Demonstrated/verifiable track record of proven success in the design and implementation of sound business development and capture strategies, as well as successful proposal development experience.
  • Direct experience identifying and leading the capture of prime opportunities and direct source awards
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect and close new customers
  • Proven track record in building accomplished teams; developing and selling solutions; and executing strategic campaigns
  • Proposal writing experience
  • Desire to succeed in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving business organization
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Mature and active network of contacts relevant to the market and the contractor industry that supports and operates within those markets
  • Knowledge of current and future policies, practices, trends, technology, and information that may impact corporate business performance within the Defense community
  • Ability to work overtime required on occasion
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to travel as needed
Required Clearances and Screenings
