Howard County General Hospital is hiring for a Clinical Lab Scientist for the Pathology Department.

Evening Shift: Monday-Friday 3pm-11:30pm

Requirements:

* Accurately performs routine and special clinical laboratory tests in one or more disciplines including quality control and Assists in researching and resolving technical and operational problems
* Participates in accurately instructing students and new employees in medical technology and technical procedures
* Appropriately utilizes the Laboratory Information System to report patient test results to an authorized medical personnel via telephone, hospital information system, or fax machine.
* Actively participates in Laboratory Quality Assurance.
* Performs scheduled equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure accurate results and in assigned area(s) as required.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Technology, or scientific related science is required.
* At least two years of pertinent laboratory experience and/or training in the specialty or sub specialty in which the individual performs tests.
* Certification in Med Tech/Medical Lab Science/Clinical Lab Science certification or a nationally recognized/department approved professional organization is required.
