Cyber SRE Program, Technical Analyst

The Cyber Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) program is looking for a technical analyst to help support the Operations and Engineering Excellence components of the team. CyberSRE is responsible for enabling and ensuring the implementation of secure, resilient, standardized and compliant app development and operations practices within the Capital One Cyber division's application portfolio. CyberSRE staff work to promote a DevOps culture among Cyber's app teams in accordance with You Build You Own (YBYO) principles and manage division-wide improvement and remediation initiatives that require changes within Cyber's application stacks.

In this role, you will design investigative and tracking methods that enable the Operational and Engineering Excellence arms of the program. Additionally, you will act as a subject matter expert in assigned technology fields. Support responses to operational disruptions and champion long-term solutions and systems improvements to enhance the stability, reliability, and resiliency of cybersecurity applications and infrastructure. This position works closely with application teams, functional counterparts across the enterprise, and Cyber Engineering leadership.

In this role, you will leverage your skills to develop portfolio-wide identification and status monitoring capabilities across a variety of internally- and externally-developed tools. Examples of this work include:

• Using Open Source/Digital technologies to mine a variety of data sources and platforms to determine what applications/sub-components are in scope for a given initiative.

• Building and executing tools to monitor and report status of application teams across multiple initiatives and areas for compliance.

• Developing well-managed solutions, tools, and capabilities to enable self-service frameworks for end users at multiple levels of engagement (e.g., software developers to executive leadership).

• Leveraging existing tools and informing the development of new technologies to progress varied initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification

• At least 2 years of experience with SQL and Python

• At least 1 year of experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree

• AWS certifications for Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect

• 3+ years of experience in a DevOps and Cloud Engineering environment

• 2+ years of experience working with application monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, New Relic)

• 4+ years of experience working with Agile Development Practices
