Working under the direction of Mary's Center Assistant Director of Individual Giving, this position is responsible for conceptualizing and implementing digital and direct mail fundraising campaigns. Crafts content for Development team's social media and email blasts and oversees fundraising and donation pages on the website. Responsibilities include developing campaign strategies and concepts, writing copy, and conducting story collection. The role requires strong writing skills and a deep understanding of digital communications, marketing, fundraising, and usability.
Reportability
This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Individual Giving.
Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Individual Giving Program:
* Develop and implement a solicitation plan for the growth of the Mary's Center individual giving program including but not limited to the two key annual fundraising appeals: Spring Appeal and Fall Appeal. Primary for all annual appeal campaigns. This includes developing the creative concepts and writing the appeal content. Work closely with the Development team member who carries responsibility for the production of the appeal packages.
* Respond to opportunities that present themselves for unplanned appeals.
* Develop targeted appeals/campaigns/phone-a-thons and electronic and written appeals.
* Assist with developing a schedule and marketing plan for donor acquisitions, including but not limited to managing Corporate/Foundation challenge matches related to acquiring new donors/upgrading existing donors.
* Responsible for creating the strategy and managing campaigns for days of giving, including Giving Tuesday.
* Oversee the Sustainer Program including but not limited to stewarding and acknowledging monthly donors, developing strategies to grow the program and ensuring the annual revenue target is met or exceeded.
* Work with Assistant Director of Individual Giving to implement a welcome packet for new monthly donors
* Participate in bi-weekly Individual Giving planning and strategy meetings
Development/Donor Communications
* Develop and maintain the annual Development Dept. communications calendar. Oversee the communication strategies for the Mary's Center donor audience.
* Primary for all Development related social media posts and promotional ads. Work with Development team members to ensure campaign promotion and funder shout-outs are regularly incorporated into social media posts.
* Promote Facebook fundraisers to Mary's Center supporters as a way of giving. Cultivate and steward news donors acquired from Facebook fundraisers.
* Work closely with the Marketing and Communications department to ensure institutional brand and message consistency; coordinate posting and campaign schedules. Serve as the Dev Dept. representative at the monthly DevMarCom meeting.
* Primary for the monthly E-News "Connections" and campaign e-appeals. Provide editorial support for the print newsletter.
* Update copy for donor on-boarding series and ensure the series is sent to new donors.
* Manage Supporter Spotlight blog creation. Strategize with team members about donors to feature and draft relevant copy to share on Mary's Center's website's blog.
* Provide support to all Dev Dept. events, including but not limited to attendance at the events and serving as primary for social media design, promotion and postings.
Website and Donation Forms
* Oversee the content for Development sections of the Mary's Center website. Responsible for updating copy and working with MarCom team to update homepage slider and any pop-up messaging. Ensure functioning and up-to-date online donation forms.
* Develop and manage fundraising landing pages, tools, and graphics for online fundraising activities, including donation forms using Luminate. Ensure fundraising forms are cross-referenced to campaigns created in Raiser's Edge. Work with Blackbaud professional services to revamp donation form layout and functionality.
* Ensure auto-responders are set up for each donation form so that donors receive acknowledgments for their gifts. Update copy for auto-responders to reflect campaign theme and purpose.
Data Analysis and Reporting
* Analyze effectiveness and success of digital fundraising campaigns and digital presence against organizational and industry benchmarks; produce regular reports on digital success and provide suggestions for improvement
* Test digital cultivation and fundraising tactics for different donor segments including monthly donors and lapsed donors. Advise on and implement A/B testing and segmentation of fundraising emails
* Stay informed of industry best practices and modifications to social media policies.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience -
* Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 4 years of fundraising experience.
* Demonstrated knowledge of Luminate. Experience with Raiser's Edge or similar CRM; in addition, basic HTML coding a plus.
* Proven verbal and written communications skills including experience in writing acknowledgment letters, direct mail appeals, and proposals. Experience in creating effective digital and multichannel campaigns and writing for email, mobile, website, digital ads, and social media.
* Ability to analyze data and translate results into actionable steps.
* Highly motivated and energetic, ability to show initiative and work independently.
* Outstanding interpersonal skills, project coordination experience, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.
* Ability to handle diverse, simultaneous tasks, meet deadlines, and attend to follow through.
Physical Demands - Regularly required sitting; frequently required to reach with hands and arms, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear; must be able to lift objects up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
Work Environment - Mostly in a typical office setting with quiet to moderate noise level.
