Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a computer science, information technology, engineering, or scientific field or the equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
T he IT Business Systems Analyst position is a blend of traditional Business Analyst and Systems Analyst disciplines. You'll be expected to utilize your technical expertise to consult and collaborate with business leaders, IT staff, and other third parties to develop, deliver, and optimize business capabilities and information technology systems. You'll often act as integrated team lead and facilitate small projects or initiatives. It's an exceptional challenge and for a true leader, it's an equally exceptional opportunity.

What you bring to the table:
- Bachelor's degree in a computer science, information technology, engineering, or scientific field or the equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

- Solid understanding of solutions development methodologies (e.g. DevOps, Agile, Software Development Lifecycle, etc.)

Duties and Tasks:
Leading
- Leads, plans, and executes small initiatives
- Plans and executes unit, integration, and acceptance testing
- Partners with business end-user community and IT staff to refine, tune, train, promote adoption and optimize environment
- Investigates and evaluates alternatives for, and assess feasibility of, improvements in information, technology, process, and/or organizational systems
- Develops recommendations and business case rationales for investment in new or enhanced solutions
- Investigates, identifies, analyzes, and captures business systems, process, information, and other forms of detailed specifications & requirements
- Solicits and captures desired business outcomes, future strategies, demands, actions, and plans
Data Analysis:
- Qualifies incoming Demand Requests, including gathering all pertinent information about the request, verifying that it's a valid request, estimating labor and all costs associated with the request. Utilize workflow tool to track and status the lifecycle of the request.
- Working with stakeholders, facilitate and prepare clear / concise business rationales for investment in new or enhanced business capability or initiatives. This may include requesting, calculating, analyzing, and presenting financial justifications, quotes, and projections such as Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) or Return on Investment (ROI) documents.
- Translates business requirements to technical specifications and interface with other technical staff to design, develop, and maintain solution
- Perform other forms of research, modeling, analysis, reporting, and presentation of alternatives / recommendations as job requires.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficiencies
- Ability to act with little daily instruction on tasks of diverse scope using a seasoned professional understanding of the Business Systems Analysis discipline
- Ability to develop relationships and formal and informal networks to influence, coordinate, communicate, and organize groups/teams
- Ability to analyze situations, alternatives, proposals, designs, architectures, risks, data, systems, and constructs
- A solid familiarity with common software tools like Microsoft Visio to document business processes, systems, organizations, or contexts; Microsoft Excel for data analysis; Microsoft PowerPoint to create and present informational presentations ; and other personal productivity software.
- Proven understanding of solutions development methodologies ( e.g. DevOps, Agile, Software Development Lifecycle, etc.)
- Knowledge of SQL queries for data transfer or business reporting preferred
- Solid presentation skills
- Solid oral & written communication skills
- Concise reporting to management / peers
- Ability to create user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, and test plans/cases
- Lean-Agile mindset proficient in the understanding and becoming familiar with the Lean-Agile mindset
- Lean-Agile principles and practices (includes DevSecOps, Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban) Proficient knowledge of the Lean-Agile principles and practices (includes DevSecOps, Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban)
Experience
- Prior work experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst capturing, analyzing, and translating business requirements, specifications, processes, and business cases strongly desired
- Broad experience of systems and/or business analysis frameworks, methodologies, and tools
- History of providing work direction and leadership to others
- A history that illustrates flexibility and adaptability to changing business needs and shows exposure to overcoming fundamental change obstacles
- Shows significant contribution within diverse teams across multiple projects or small initiatives to successfully achieve deliverables
- Developing solutions to a variety of challenging problems of broader scope and complexity, using established procedures
NOTE: This role can be supported remotely.
Note: The compensation information listed is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is estimated based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid. It assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation.
If performed in Colorado, this position has a salary range of USD $75,000.00/Yr. - USD $95,000.00/Yr.
