Position : Personal Trainer
Calling All Certified Personal Trainers

About the Job
Under the supervision of the Wellness Director, the Personal Trainer is responsible for the safety, supervision and wellness support for one on one training members and small group classes. Being highly relational and mission driven are essentials for the success of a Personal Trainer.

Some of the exciting things you will do as a Personal Trainer include but are not limited to:

  • Completes a thorough assessment of the member's fitness level
  • Establishes personal goals and objectives for the member
  • Plans a program appropriate to the goals and objectives of the member
  • Assesses and reassesses member needs at each session
  • Maintains records of each member's needs at each session
  • Builds safety considerations into the exercise program
  • Maintains all personal certifications by attending workshops and recertification training

Qualifications and Skills:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current CPR and AED
  • Current national certification in personal training from a recognized national certifying organization
  • YMCA Healthy Lifestyles/Personal Training
  • Hold YMCA Fitness Specialist or ACSM certification or equivalent education or documented expertise
  • Minimum one year personal training experience
  • Display an outgoing personality with an ability to be sensitive to the needs of each individual member
  • Knowledgeable on all strength equipment and the safe use of that equipment

Working Conditions:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, reach with hands or arms, lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear.

Salary Range: $27.50 per hour
