THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE

As a valued contributor on our team, you will advise the team responsible for applying mathematical models, advanced tools or techniques (such as SAS, Python, and R), and financial industry knowledge to business or financial data, including model results. Your efforts will enable the team to analyze or report on business performance, solve business questions, or inform business decisions. Work may include developing models or prototypes to achieve these goals, but is not the core focus in the role.

Responsibilities

The Enterprise SF Risk - Financial Engineering - Advisor role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities

  • Guide, lead and coordinate team activities related to establishing risk indicators & limits and conducting risk assessments and on-going risk monitoring.
  • Develop and advise on the application of methods, models, and analytics used to identify and monitor potential risks pertaining to single family acquisitions and book.
  • Provide guidance on processing or analyzing large amounts of data efficiently using advanced financial engineering tools and techniques.
  • Apply complex solution to financial analysis or forecasting, which may include scenario or sensitivity analysis, stress testing, or attribution analysis.
  • Lead team activities related to reviewing model business assumptions and analyzing model performance data for key financial and underwriting models across the company.
  • Analyze portfolio characteristics and risks and lead discussions to review and assess risk mitigation actions/solutions
  • Design new analytical capabilities to support risk measurement, financial valuation, decision making, and business performance for oversight coverage area.
  • Translate the results from the analysis or models for the customer into understandable conclusions.
Qualifications

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Minimum Required Experiences
  • 6 years of relevant work experience
  • Functional Skills
    • Strategic mindset with clear understanding of business operations and insights related to risk management
    • Strong risk assessment and analytics experience; can analyze mortgage portfolio risk characteristics, develop risk indicators, and provide risk mitigation recommendations.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skill in delivering complex technical information to audience with various background including senior level leadership.
    • Experience gathering accurate information to explain rationale and answer critical questions.
    • Skilled in influencing, negotiating, persuading others, facilitating meetings, and resolving conflict
    • Ability to conduct independent analysis and gather business and market insights to inform risk decisions and forecasting activities
    • Working with people with different functional expertise respectfully and cooperatively to work toward a common goal
    • Adept at managing project plans, resources, and working with team members to ensure successful project completion
    • Demonstrated experience with stakeholder or relationship management. Both internal and externally to the company
  • Technical Skills
    • Extensive experience in data analytics and model evaluation
    • Expertise in applying statistical techniques including for analyzing and monitoring mortgage performance
    • Proven experience utilizing data to identify trends or relationships to provide insights and inform decisions based on sound analysis.
    • Expertise in utilizing technology tools and open-source programming languages (Python, R, SQL, etc.) to support business or risk management processes
    • Skilled in Excel, Tableau, SharePoint and other analytical tools
    • Expertise in presenting technical information and/or ideas to an audience in a way that is engaging and easy to understand using graphical representation of information in the form of a charts, diagrams, pictures, and dashboards with programs and too
Desired Experiences
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics or Mathematics. Advanced degree highly preferred.
  • Strong expertise in Regulatory Capital, Economic Capital and Stress Testing.
  • Strong expertise in single-family mortgage credit/analytics.
  • Proven ability to lead a complex risk review and analysis for high impact projects end-to-end.
