Senior Manager, Workplace Planning & Strategy - Markets
The Senior Manager Workplace Planning & Strategy - Markets role will play a crucial role in developing workplace strategy solutions and leading client-facing project engagements around the future of work, return to work, portfolio optimization and more traditional occupancy planning and workplace planning and execution. In addition to a consulting, planning and technical background, the role requires strong presentation and organizational skills. 20-25% travel is required for this role.
What this job involves:
Sales & Workplace Expertise:
* Partner with our brokers and other salespeople for business development and client service delivery.
* Contribute as a key member of client facing teams to develop, implement, & manage Workplace Strategy programs
* Supporting prep meeting, pitch content, as well as attending pitches to win brokerage business
* Prep may include benchmarking current spaces and comparing to industry peers or researching a firm's current workplace environment and identifying areas of potential improvement related to space usage, culture, or demographics
* Utilize JLL and other technologies to perform and/or facilitate programming and space planning exercises for clients. This includes work in Autocad, Revit, BIM and other drafting technologies, along with JLL-proprietary software
* Work with JLL Marketing and Research to create workplace collateral and thought leadership pieces organized by different industry types
* Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) by staying abreast of current issues and trends in business, corporate real estate, workplace strategies, occupancy planning, and organizational development and through active participation in relevant industry forums and professional associations
* On key projects, lead programming efforts, employee surveys, test-fits, business interviews, mobility assessments, visioning sessions and focus groups
* Manage project document control across projects
* Collaborate with workplace and occupancy planners on benchmarking, trends, recommendations, and report-outs
Relationship Management / Delivery:
* Maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholder and key clients
* Be the project Engagement Manager for strategic projects
* Act as escalation point for delivery issues
* Manage consistent delivery of Workplace & Occupancy Planning and ensure high level of execution and client satisfaction
The Candidate:
The successful candidate will have a strong combination of Workplace and/or Occupancy Planning experience, the ability to win business, and deliver workplace projects.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree required. Prefer Architecture or Interior Design background
* MBA, advanced degree and/or certifications - preferred
* 5+ years' related experience in corporate real estate (office) with experience in workplace strategies, programming, design, and change management. Will also need to understand facilities management, project management, and construction management
* Strong background in business development and point-of-sale presentation skills
* Impeccable and concise communication and presentation skills, verbal and written
* Strong time management skills and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
* People management experience preferred, but not required
* Proficiency in AutoCad, REVIT, BIM or other drafting technologies is required
* Proficiency in CAFM/IWMS system technologies is preferred
Knowledge & Abilities:
* Ability to work both independently and cooperatively in an agile environment, including virtual collaboration with remote colleagues
* Managed multiple projects and coordinated activities by multiple individuals/groups
* Ability to interpret qualitative and quantitative research data and synthesize into meaningful and actionable results
* Energetic, creative, and willing to work hard in a fast-paced environment; enjoys variety and challenges of consulting work
* Workplace program implementation experience in a corporate setting, working alongside cross-functional real estate, facilities, IT, HR, Finance and change management teams, would be highly valuable
* Current knowledge of corporate enterprise IT infrastructure, tools and technologies desirable
* Exposure to Six Sigma approaches and/or business process development desirable

* ANALYTICS: Has a structured approach to problem solving with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics. Drives to fix the ultimate root causes to drive sustainable change.
* CHARACTER: Shows character with high perseverance and resourcefulness required to keep driving and finding ways to get the required steps done.
* FLEXIBLE & ADAPTABLE: Able to work in ambiguous situations. Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere. Forward looking with a holistic approach.
