Student Recruitment Representatives (DC) (Part-Time)

Background:

LEARN Charter School Network (LEARN) opened its doors as a charter school in 2001 with the mission to provide children with the academic foundation and ambition to earn a college degree. Our 20 year commitment to providing underserved communities with a high-quality, college prep elementary education is unwavering. LEARN currently serves 4,100 students (90% of which are low-income and 99% minority) across 11 campuses with 10 in Illinois and 1 in D.C.

Job Description

Our Student Recruitment Representatives understand the importance of offering educational CHOICE to families in Washington, D.C. Our Student Recruitment Representatives coordinate the recruitment efforts of all new students at LEARN schools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the enrollment process according to established policies and procedures at LEARN.
  • Work closely with the Network Student Recruitment Team and D.C. Principal to develop a comprehensive digital marketing and field marketing plan to recruit new students.
  • Organize and execute door-to-door community outreach (field marketing) to promote our school.
  • Support LEARN D.C. staff in the collection and processing of prospective student applications through the My School DC application process.
  • Represent LEARN D.C. in recruiting efforts to preschools, schools, churches, youth centers and other organizations serving potential candidates for enrollment.
  • Meet with families, prospective applicants and feeder-school representatives to promote our school.
  • Research community events and recruitment opportunities to promote our schools.
  • Work closely with the Principal and Office Manager to coordinate tours of the school, open houses, and other activities for prospective students and their parents.
  • Work closely with AppleTree to create opportunities for Ward 8 and on-base families to connect.
  • Support the Office Manager with any recruitment events as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Must demonstrate a positive attitude, good communication skills, and sensitivity to working in a diverse multicultural environment.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with community partners.
  • Team Player.
  • Result Oriented.
  • Familiar with community relations between base families and civilian families.
  • Familiarity with the charter school movement in D.C. is a PLUS.
  • Background in education or experience working with or in schools.
  • Has the ability to work independently and without significant supervision. This person will be working in the community doing recruitment for the majority of their time.

Develops realistic action plans and utilizes team effectively to achieve department goals.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • On call
  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Washington, DC 20032: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
