Job description

Job Purpose:

This role is responsible for translating the strategic roadmap for a product into tactical activities, that are then executed to fulfill the product vision.


Job Location:

The position is remote/home office in the U.S.


Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  • Define requirements for features based on the roadmap.
  • Create actionable user stories for the development team, working with UI/UX teams to visualize features and solutions.
  • Groom and prioritize the work in the backlog.
  • Attend all agile meetings - scrum, grooming, sprint planning and retrospectives and answer developer's questions as the customer/user representative.
  • Accept the completed user stories to make sure the work fulfills the criteria.
  • Work with other Product Owners to ensure dependencies are prioritized appropriately across teams.
  • Work directly with Product Management and business owners to identify product needs for roadmap consideration.
  • Analyze product issues and defects reported by end users and support teams.
  • Work with the Product Manager/Product Director on release planning and supporting processes, including training and communication to internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Assist with user acceptance testing or beta testing with customers for specific features as needed.
  • Demonstrate Cendyn products to various internal teams as needed.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the relevant product domains.

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Provide cover for Product Manager or Product Director during their absence.


Requirements:

Required Education and Experience:

  • 1+ years of relevant Business Analyst or Product Coordinator experience in a product development environment.
  • Experience with Agile backlog management tools, such as Target Process (preferred), Confluence, Jira or VersionOne.
  • Excellent Organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
  • Experience collaborating with UX resources to complete wire-frames/mock-ups with tools such as Visio, Balsamiq, etc.
  • Experience writing business requirement documents.
  • Experience in Quality assurance testing.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or a combination of education and experience.
  • Usability testing experience preferred.

Expected Competencies:

  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Proven writing skills including the ability to write concisely and clearly for different audiences.
