JOB SUMMARY:
The Fire, Safety, and Security Products group within Client is a global organization dedicated to providing product and technology designed to protect people and property.

We are currently looking for a Lab Test Engineer who can executed and deliver precision testing of our fire and CO detection products. In this role, you will focus on the product testing, hands-on PCB modifications necessary, and execution of testing protocols to ensure quality performance for our customers and agencies from around the world. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee and execute official UL and ULC compliance tests for life safety products
Execute UL specified fire room testing on smoke alarm products
Execute validation and regression level tests
Calibrate products to meet client specifications
Verify functional requirement on new product designs
Track progress on program testing to ensure schedule goals
Document test results in an organized manner
Conduct testing to support failure analysis investigation
Compile and report unusual conditions or high-risk results affecting product quality or safety
Review, test, and validate agency requirements for each product
Collaborate and share ideas on process improvement
Analyze defective components and/ or product systems
Execute ad-hoc tasks to support the lab and design teams

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or other engineering discipline with relevant electronics hobbies, academic club participation or industry experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficient using digital and analog testing equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes Ability to execute testing and validation tasks within a specific timeline Soldering experience with a Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Comfortable working with lab equipment and various hand-held power tools Understands how to read and interpret schematics, installation sheets, and bill of materials Interpersonal skills to work with several departments, including engineering and production Proficient on Microsoft Office (especially Excel) Ability to stand for long periods of time, install products on ceiling and wall locations using ladders, and lift 50 lbs. with reasonable accommodation Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A. without restrictions

Preferred:
2+ years of experience working in testing or design on electronic products, and/or experience working on electronics in a SAE club Worked in the fire and gas industry with knowledge of regulatory standards such as UL268/217/521/EN54 Experience with LabVIEW Experience with new product development
