Summary of Job:
Provides leadership to a Human Resources team dedicated to the success of the State Business Unit. Under the guidance of the Chief Human Resources Officer and State Business Unit CEO, this position supports the operations and Mission of the Centerstone SBU. This includes ensuring staffing requirements are fulfilled, cultural initiatives are developed and implemented, employee relations issues and litigation matters are investigated and worked to a positive resolution, HR actions are properly administered and the HR database is maintained.
Under broad organizational policy and goals established by the Centerstone enterprise and the CEO, ensures all procedures regarding employment and employees including compensation, hiring, terminations, assigned job responsibilities, etc., are administered lawfully, equitably, and in a manner that motivates employees to reach their full potential as individual staff members so that the organization benefits as a whole.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develops and implements cultural initiatives to increase employee engagement and contribution.
2. Ensures HR team is prepared to meet the staffing needs of the organization.
3. Investigates employee relations issues, unemployment claims, workers compensation claims, and litigation matters working to a positive resolution.
4. Coordinates with SBU leaders to implement leadership development initiatives
5. Provides counsel to SBU leaders on compensation matters, job performance issues, disciplinary matters, and other human resource issues.
6. Serves as a member of the State Leadership Team, responsible for assisting in the development and achievement of the organization's strategic objectives, particularly those relating to human resources.
7. Effectively coordinates with HRD colleagues across the enterprise
8. Administers policies governing the relationship between Centerstone and its employees.
9. Monitors federal, state, and local statutes and regulations affecting employer/employee relationships and ensures organizational compliance.
10. Compiles equal employment opportunity and other legally required reports for administrative agencies governing employee issues.
11. Oversees employee engagement survey; exit interview survey; evaluates survey results to assist in developing initiatives to improve engagement and retention.
12. Communicates information or provides group training to employees on issues including compliance with employment-related laws, compensation increases, health insurance providers, employee assistance programs, etc.
13. Serves on committees such as safety, credentials/staff development, Wellness, Positive Change, and critical incidents.
14. Participate in/lead assigned Enterprise-wide initiatives.
15. Develops and maintains systems for ensuring compliance of Human Resource functions with Accreditation requirements.
16. Maintains compliance requirements for all Joint Commission, DCF, AHCA, and/or other governing bodies.
17. Oversees annual completion of performance evaluations.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Talent Acquisition, HRIS, other SBU-based HR team members
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a positive culture within an organization. Strong business acumen required to be an effective partner.
All other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing employment, compensation, and benefits issues.
- Strong analytical skills. Strong managerial skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Human Resources Management, Master's degree preferred.
- PHR/SPHR certification.
- Ten (10) plus years of broad human resource experience with supervisory responsibility.
