BrightStar Credit Union is seeking a Senior Support System Specialist to join our team at our

The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct assistance to our staff members by answering questions regarding their computer or the various information systems they use. This position will also aid the internal IT staff in providing resolutions to incidents, requests, and issues. Must have the ability to keep up with technical innovation and trends in IT support. Collaboration with the Projects Team and various other business units to bring new services and products into existence for our membership.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must provide excellent service and support to IT Personnel, Staff Members and Credit Union Members as defined by the organizations service standards and promises.
- Must demonstrate the ability to follow, improve, and develop documentation, procedures, knowledgebase articles and guides for IT Personnel and Staff Members.
- Must have the ability to work independently and in a group to troubleshoot problems, resolve incidents and research the capabilities of current or proposed solutions.
- Must demonstrate progressive growth in supporting all the organization's information systems.
- Must have knowledgeable experience with Windows Administration, Linux Administration, Unix Administration, and Telecommunications technologies.
- Must have knowledge and an understanding of industry standards and best practices regarding systems administration, network administration and security.
- Must have strong communications skills with the ability to communicate professionally with other IT Personnel, staff members, and vendors.
- Must be able to provide actionable feedback and suggestions as requested.
- Must be able to prioritize the resolution of technical issues during all phases of an information system's lifecycle and communicate changes/issues to the appropriate team in an effective and efficient manner.
- Must be able to assist in the identification, research, development, implementation, support, and documentation of information systems that enable the credit union to achieve its organizational objectives.
- Must be highly organized with a process-oriented approach to work and have an extreme degree of attention to detail.
- Must be able to protect and retain confidential material on the membership and the organizations practices.
- Must be able to travel between various organization sites and other locations as needed.
- Must be able to perform multiple tasks effectively.
- Maintain knowledge with training:
· BSA Compliance - every employee is required to uphold the credit union's compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering policies and procedures. Specific functions with BSCU will take into consideration the awareness of unusual or suspicious activity that is relevant to the department. In addition to any other assigned training courses, online BSA and OFAC courses must be completed at least annually, as made available by the Training and/or Compliance Department. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, Customer Identification Program, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, Fair Lending and Credit Card Act.

Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: 5+ years of similar or related experience working in technology. Preference will be given to those with experience in financial institution technology groups or Fintech organizations. Six months or more of similar or related experience
Education:
1. A college degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. An equivalent through a combination of formal education and work experience.

Additional Skills: Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and must be proficient with all Microsoft Office applications.
