Position Summary

Zwicker is presently seeking a Managing Attorney possessing a minimum of 5 years civil litigation experience in a fast-paced environment to lead the team in our Deerfield, FL Office. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader, proven to be a successful motivator of people and manager of processes. Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving abilities are required. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, a self-starter, detail oriented, and driven to perform. The ability to utilize spreadsheets to organize and analyze data is a requirement.

The successful candidate will manage litigation operations, staff, and associate attorneys working through the portfolio of assigned accounts/cases for designated states. Effective mentorship of associate attorneys in the practice of law is essential. Training on, monitoring of, and enforcement of production and compliance requirements for all staff is required. Representation of clients in civil litigation matters and negotiations, as well as drafting and approving legal documents and pleadings will be routine. The successful candidate will advise clients and firm management of state specific laws, rules, and regulatory issues as related to the assigned portfolio of accounts or other litigation related matters. The Managing Attorney will report to our regional AVP of Litigation Operations.

Responsibilities:

Manage assigned portfolio of accounts to effectively achieve client goals and protect client and Z&A interests

Implement, manage and improve litigation processes - within the framework identified by Z&A executive management staff - to most efficiently achieve all goals and responsibilities

Create and revise standard operating procedures and forms

Supervise, train and assign duties and responsibilities to the litigation staff

Liaise with the Litigation Operations and Audit departments to insure compliance with client expectations, firm policies, and local/state regulations, and remediating/resolving any identified compliance issues.

Training associate attorneys and staff on operating procedures and processes.

Enforcing production and performance expectations for all staff and attorneys in the site.

Review and execute legal pleadings, motions, etc.

Send and respond to correspondence from opposing counsel, pro se parties, corporate office, litigation members and courts

Zealously advocate for client interests in motion practice hearings and trials, in person and telephonically when permitted

Draft specific pleadings, motions, responses, discovery, etc.

Ensure appropriate account and case documentation and document retention via RMS notes, statuses case files and electronic storage, in compliance with the State Bar requirements, Court Rules and Z&A standards. Comply with all applicable standard operating procedures an set forth by Z& Executive management

Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Five years minimum of civil litigation experience in a high volume environment

Debt collections experience

Previous management experience

High level of professionalism

Degree: JD

Membership in the Florida State Bar as an attorney qualified to practice law

Strong commitment to ethics and compliance standards

Collaborative team player

Fluency in Excel

Strong computer skills

Physical Qualifications:

Be able to lift 5 lbs. or greater

Be able to sit 90% of the work day at times

Be able to bend at the waist and be mobile when needed

Be able to read and comprehend position-specific documents and correspondence

Be able to communicate in a common language with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/ or in writing

Be able to travel occasionally when needed by the most efficient means of transportation

Be able to operate a computer, phone and/or equivalent devices

Be able to complete a minimum of a 40 hour flexible workweek schedule
