BROAD FUNCTION: To completely assume all duties and assignments of a service representative. To continue to learn the necessary skills and duties to become a more proficient Service Representative. Also to assist the Service Manager in all aspects and functions of the Service Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be a key component in the testing and quality control aspects of Companies manufacturing process.
- To be extremely familiar with the construction and functions of Companies Packaging Machine Corporation's manufactured machinery.
- Stay current and proficient with the programming, loading, trouble-shooting and defect repair of all mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic controls, and communications equipment used in the manufacture of Company machinery.
- Provide feedback to Engineering, Sales, and other departments.
- To participate in the testing and quality control aspects of Companies manufacturing process.
- To assist in the manufacturing and assembly of all Company machinery.
- Make personal visits to install new machines in the field or general service calls and conversions (as instructed by Service Manager), and be an ambassador for the company in all interactions, possibly leading a team.
- Provide feedback to Engineering, Sales, and other departments.
- Be extremely familiar with the standard operating procedures of the Service Department and assists in: reviewing and filing service Reports, the development of any and all troubleshooting guides and manuals.
- Carry out secondary duties, as assigned by the Service Manager which will involve responsibilities vital to the smooth running of the department, and the company.
- The foregoing descriptions are intended to set forth the major duties but do not include all areas of work; the employee may be assigned other duties or incidental jobs.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENT MINIMUM REQUIREMENT
- 2 or 4 year degree in Engineering subject preferred
- 3+ years' experience as Service Representative preferred
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in installation and service of packaging machinery or industrial equipment
- Advanced Knowledge of Electrical Troubleshooting and design ("hard wire")
- Advanced knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems and components.
- Mechanical assembly experience with ability to read pneumatic and electrical and mechanical Diagrams or blueprints.
- Advanced knowledge of PLC programming, troubleshooting, and program development(must demonstrate)
- Advanced Knowledge of industrial control systems (i.e. Motors, motor starters, overloads, relays, frequency drives, etc.)
- Advanced computer skills.
- Basic knowledge of PLC programming, troubleshooting, and program development
- Must be able to interact with the customers at a professional level, and be a team player.
- Advanced computer skills (Must demonstrate).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
In order to assemble, install and perform service on machines, the Service Representative must be able to:
- Squat (repeatedly) for 10-15 minutes at a time
- Bend at the knees and waist for up to 1 hour at a time
- Stand on ladders and raised platforms for up to 45 minutes at a time
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Hold up to 30 pounds for 15-20 minutes at a time
- Work in "cold room" environments (36?-40?F) for up to 3 hours at a time
- Work in "hot room" environments (100?-115?F) for up to 3 hours at a time
