Accounting Manager

O2B Kids is a GROWING education company in both Florida and Georgia. We are currently looking for a senior accountant within our business office, which serves 25 schools, and growing!

Senior accountant should possess solid communication, technology, organizational and analytical skills. 5+ years of experience in an accounting environment. Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Reports to Director of Finance.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Preparing accounts payable check runs and printing checks
• Reconciling account balances and bank statements
• Maintain general ledger
• Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Month-end/year-end close procedures
• Sales tax reconciliation and submission
• Assist in preparing financial statements
• Assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas
• Performing monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses
• Assisting in the design and preparation of budgets for review by management
• Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules
• Supervising accounting staff
• Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
• Strong knowledge of or experience in processing payroll.

Qualifications and Skills

• Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like Sage Intacct, MAS 100 or other posting software
• Advanced MS Excel skills including formulas, Vlookups and pivot table
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Solid understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations
• Familiar with a budget metric environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Highly skilled in math, accounting and financial processes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail oriented and highly organized
• Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
• Excellent critical thinking skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
• At least 5 years' experience in accounting
