Housing Specialist
Position reports directly to: Economic Empowerment Coordinator/Director of Outreach
Location: Gainesville Outreach Office

Qualifications and Skills:

Degree in social services or related area preferred. Ability to work with individuals in crisis, including providing Case Management and counseling/education. Interest in housing equity and knowledge of local services and resources preferred. A commitment to operating all services on an empowerment model a must.

Principal Job Duties

1. Conduct intakes for participants interested in Housing Services, including housing assessments and relocation assistance applications

2. Provide individual case management to outreach and ongoing permanent housing program participants to include: assist with identifying housing goals, needs, and obstacles to stability; provide family-oriented service plans and budgets; provide advocacy and referrals relative to finding and maintaining permanent housing

3. Build new and maintain existing partnerships with housing providers in the tri-county region.

4. Work with the Economic Empowerment team to ensure all participants in housing are served and have ongoing follow up.

5. Maintain timely and accurate statistical entries, records and service documentation for all grant requirements

Secondary Job Duties

1. Participate in walk-in rotation, and conduct Outreach intakes and follow ups for Outreach clients.
2. Participate in the CoC Subcommittees for Housing and Coordinated Entry.
3. Attend staff meetings and trainings as scheduled and needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32,000.00 - $35,000.00 per year
