I. Job Summary

The Retail Sales Clerk is a critical link to guest satisfaction. Responsibilities include welcoming guests, readily assisting guests and patrons in purchasing items, anticipating guest needs and meeting or exceeding those needs, responding to and resolving guest inquires and complaints. This person should be very comfortable interacting with guests in a professional manner.

II. Job Responsibilities

Guest Communication
• Greet and make all guests feel welcomed to the Cheeca Lodge & Spa.
• Communicates effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
• Ensure guest satisfaction by responding to inquiries with accurate information and a positive attitude.
• Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services or connect the guest to the appropriate person to help.
• Answer calls with appropriate greeting.
• Welcome and effectively resolve guest questions, issues and complaints with supervisor assistance as needed.
• Attend team briefings.

Financial Transactions
• Handle cash, credit card and other financial transactions.
• Post charges.
• Compute or adjust bill, collect payment and make change for guests.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred

Skills and Experience (Essential)
• At least 18 years of age
• Must have working knowledge of computers
• Must be able to read, communicate effectively and have superb interpersonal skills

Skills and Experience (Preferred)
• Past work experience in the hospitality and/or retail industry
• Communication in other languages is helpful.
