The role

SoFi is hiring a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt to join our Operations team, focused on process improvement across product lines. The Lean Six Sigma team is responsible for driving efficient, effective, Member-centric processes, with a scope of both designing new, and iterating on existing processes. The successful candidate will work directly with Operations, Product, Engineering, Compliance, Risk, Legal, Business Owners and several other functions to ensure the best work is being delivered for our Employees and our Members, while maintaining all Legal and Regulatory requirements. They will manage and direct the implementation of small to large efforts that require the definition, analysis / measurement, delivery and deployment of solutions that meet stakeholder needs and are compatible with business drivers.

What You'll Do

  • Strong ability to dissect inefficient processes and Member Friction, redesign, influence change and measure results
  • Diagrams and evaluates existing processes, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Develops metrics that provide data for process measurement, identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities. Collects data to identify root cause of problems.
  • Aligns improvement to performance shortfalls.
  • Provides consultation on the use of re-engineering techniques to improve process performance and product quality.
  • Performs cost and benefit analyses
  • Bring strong subject matter knowledge related to good process and how to build it, rooted in data
  • Support various functions and Products in our mission to deliver an amazing Member experience
  • Manage/engage with multiple efforts concurrently while ensuring all stakeholders are informed and work product is maintained
  • Ability to work with internal Customers to clearly define opportunities to be solved
  • Ensure accurate tracking of opportunities in backlog, in process, and prioritization methods to drive resource availability and allocation in business planning processes
  • Establish and conduct meetings to communicate expectations, understand and quantify the opportunity, roles, status updates, track open issues, socialize the solution, influence the delivery, and work with all groups and clients to resolve issues as required
  • Maintain excellent communication with all levels of management, be responsive to customers, and provide appropriate training and cross training to other SoFi team mates as needed
  • May deliver presentations and training courses including measurement, analysis, improvement and control.
What You'll Need
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification (or equivalent experience)
  • 2 - 5 years of hands-on Lean Six Sigma experience, preferably within financial services
  • Ability to build, contribute and execute scalable processes and systems enabling consistent Lean Six Sigma rigor to ensure operational efficiencies, adherence to policy and procedures, regulatory compliance, improved member experience while delivering on unit economic goals
  • Able to navigate multiple unique business functions successfully
  • Must be able to effectively network and build partnerships in a fast-paced
  • environment
  • Ability to react to change quickly and implement new processes & procedures
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Professional demeanor and excellent work habits are essential
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, technology or a related field.
Nice To Have
  • The ideal candidate will have some experience with project management
  • Experience training Lean Six Sigma White Belt, Yellow Belt or Green Belt
