Position Overview

Role will encompass end-to-end reporting solutions where focus is on developing approaches and/or processes to accomplish goals with particular emphasis on advanced data modeling, research and analytics. It combines traditional analysis with the ability to translate the data into impactful presentations using common data visualization tools and techniques. Typically an individual contributor, operating in a senior analyst capacity in direct collaboration with key stakeholders that reside within the functions/lines-of-business. May provide direction to junior analysts in a mentorship role.

Responsibilities

Converts data to actionable insights, and leverages data visualization tools to effectively tell a story

Maintain a clear understanding of the relationship between reporting information and business needs through participation in business projects

Uses data analysis techniques to develop insights that lead to new recommendations presented to management and business partners

Researches, develops and implements new methods of measuring and analyzing data sets and processes

Works with a wide range of proprietary, industry-standard and open-source data stores and tools to assemble, organize and analyze data

Works directly with business partners across multiple channels to evaluate needs, develops end-to-end solutions, and implement those solutions within budget, control requirements, and SLAs

Collaborates with IT groups to design infrastructure to support business reporting

Required Skills

Strong SQL knowledge, including complex queries, stored procedures, et al

Experience with relational databases and query optimization to pull and summarize large datasets with focus on efficiency and reducing server impacts

Adept at explaining and converting complex concepts into digestible information to be consumed by audiences of varying levels of expertise

Ability to develop advanced data visualization and presentations

Strong story telling capabilities

Degree required or equivalent experience required; quantitative or related finance-related field preferred

Preferred Skills

Advanced analytics experience, with preferred knowledge in one or more of these tools: Cognos, Power BI, Tableau, Python, Alteryx

Functional industry experience in operations, marketing, credit/risk, technology or finance
